JARG
King Kong circa 1976 (because, you know, Jeff Bridges) Jessica Lange acts stoned through the whole thing and quite obviously that's a man in an ape suit. But I love this version, most, of any of them Probably because i saw it in the theaters at the tender age of 7 (I really have no idea how that happened, though. I think it was on w/ something else as a double feature) and it stuck w/ me that that was the way it King Kong was supposed to be. I have a nostalgia connection with this version, too. Like you, I saw it when it was still in theaters. My mom and I had gone to Austin to do some Christmas shopping at the mall and I pestered into taking me to see the movie on our way home. I would've been 11 at the time.I watched it again a few months ago -- you're right, Jessica Lange does act stoned through the whole thing, but my God, she sure had that "girl next door" look down pat.

goose
Really good, maybe a bit overrated. It looks like a film I'd enjoy...nothing great, story-wise, but solid acting across the board.
Lucas
During the first 3/4s of this movie, I was thinking "this is one of the most beautifully shot, well done horrorsih movies I have ever seen" and then the bottom sagged, but didn't completely fall out Still a work of art, but it could have been an all time great The Silenced .... great ain't bad, but it could have been all-time

Lucas
First time in probably 30 years The Omen .. what a masterpiece .. just reading a bit about The Omen, and I came across this .. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/creepy-strange-tales-cursed-movies/4/ Take it for what you will .. Soon after the filming, John Richardson, the special effects artist who created the decapitation scene in The Omen, was involved in an automobile accident in which his assistant and partner Liz Moore was killed: Special effects artist John Richardson, who helped with the film's infamous decapitation scene, was in a car crash during post-production. While Richardson survived the Friday the 13th crash, the head-on collision beheaded Richardson's passenger, assistant Liz Moore, in a manner that was eerily similar to the death scene he helped shoot. Richardson reportedly saw a road sign near the accident scene showing the distance to a Dutch town that read: Ommen, 66.6 km. I found these two pics - I assume these are what the article refers to: Edited March 18, 2018 by Lucas
