invisible airwave
"Mascots"Just saw this on Netflix. My hopes were low, due to "For Your Consideration", but I was pleasantly surprised, and laughed more than once (more than twice, even). If you liked Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, then you shouldn't be disappointed. You seen that short lived HBO series from Guest called Family Tree? That was a good show.
EagleMoon
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Best of the lot, I think. I kept waiting for Anakin to lose another arm or leg. Fight scenes were good and I liked the twist at the end.

EagleMoon
Really loved this one. I keep hearing mixed reviews from people who have seen this. I was going to see it at the theater and then a friend of mine who generally likes the same type of movies that I do said that he didn't like it. So I didn't go. Segue Myles
Really loved this one. I keep hearing mixed reviews from people who have seen this. I was going to see it at the theater and then a friend of mine who generally likes the same type of movies that I do said that he didn't like it. So I didn't go. I think you need to watch it remembering this is based on tried and true material we have seen many times before. Now...I saw it with children who hadn't seen the animation and weren't all that familiar with the story in general. For me, it's over familiar, for them it's all new. I adored the film. Seeing it with an audience who have never seen it was an amazing experience and I think that helped me realise what a great film this is! Maybe for us adults it's a little boring (not me but I can ee ow it could be), but it's definitely one of the very best family films I have seen in years. Of for nothing else, admire the beauty of the effects. To my eyes it's a more beautiful world than Avatar. And Bill Murray as Balloo was great! I give it a 9/10. Only letdown was Scarlet Johannson as Kaa. It's worth bearing in mind hat this is very much the cartoon as told with the darkness of the novel. It's a perfect blend. And Shere Khan is delightfully evil. REALLY GREAT VOICE ACTING. And the wolf cub Grey...oh my word Eagle you will love his little face!

But it doesn't strive to be the same movie at all. It has some very dark moments for a family movie. Some children at the cinema I went to were escorted out crying ridiculously. It's out on DVD and Blu-ray. My cousin brought the Blu-ray over, and while I'm usually not a fan of mostly CGI movies, this one looks ridiculously good! One of the best looking movies I've ever seen really. The sound is good too. The Kaa scene that Segue didn't care for sounds crazy in surround. I don't buy a lot of movies anymore, but this is one I'm going to pick up for myself.

Stormtron
Gods of Egypt. Not all of it, but more than enough. I watched the first episode of Black Mirror season 3 and then flipped to HBO to see what the new movie was. It was this shit. I only watched about thirty minutes before I bailed and went back to Black Mirror, but hoooooooly shit! The parts I saw were so bad. SO F'N BAD. I was crying from laughter. Then I looked up who directed it...the guy who did Dark City?! That movie is so good, how did this happen? Anyway, Kingslayer's gotta regret taking that role. The whole point of Disney adapting these stories is they are creating new sides to what made them great. I enjoy the novel more than the animation. I enjoy this movie more than the animation and much of that is because the tone is more respectful to the source material. Besides, Disney create their own stories. I think of it as no different to each country in Europe having different spins on the same folklore or fairy tales.
