treeduck
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/22/Splice-poster.jpg This one was daft as f**k and pure comedy gold! Especially the part where the two blobs start fighting at the project presentation and when the girlfriend catches Adrien Brody banging the creature in the barn! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/37/The_Paperboy.jpg This one didn't turn out like I expected at all...pretty good though... Hatchetaxe&saw
Zero Dark Thirty. Superb. How Bigelow didn't get a director nomination for the Oscar is a puzzle. And Kyle Chandler was in it, that kept the wife happy.

Especially the part where the two blobs start fighting at the project presentation and when the girlfriend catches Adrien Brody banging the creature in the barn! That movie is stupid as f**k. I remember it got decent reviews too. On a somewhat related note, I watched The Adventures of Baron Munchausen with my kid last night, which stars a young Sarah Polley. I guess she was traumatized by all the crazy shit Gilliam had going on around the set. Couldn't have been worse than seeing Brody banging a bald scorpion bird thing. It had me laughing all the way through, when the thing first appeared it was like the last chicken in the shop was running around! And those blobs I couldn't believe these scientists were taking these things so seriously. :D

L3ander
Just watched Dredd, the new one not the Stalone pos from the nineties. Now I'm a huge Judge Dredd fan, from his original appearance in 2000AD, I was 12 when it first came out....! Its rated 18 in the Uk (R in the States?). I enjoyed it but still felt let down by the story. Karl Urban plays Dredd and does a good job. You don't see his face, Dredd's face is never seen! I give it 7 out of

Cusack is mega creepy in that movie. I was psyched to see him play against type for once. He was totally un-Cusack like, he did really well as the slimey redneck killer, he was totally a different person in this. The scene where they first visit him had me squirming, it was kind of funny too in an uncomfortable way... I thought this film was just going to be a lighthearted murder mystery/slice of life period piece at first, but it turned into a dark, bleak tale that was pretty uncomfortable. I looked it up after I watched it and it's based on a Pete Dexter novel so it's not surprising, he writes some pretty hard boiled material. Stormtron
Hotel Transylvania. It was okay, but I fell asleep and missed the last 30 minutes and didn't really care. My kid liked it though. ParaNorman is better.
