Wrestling:

JUST ABOUT ALL OF THEM. yes.gif Very personal connections with...

Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Chyna, Ivan Putski, Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior (TOTAL ASSHOLE yes.gif ), Ric Flair, Jesse "the Body" Ventura, The Samoan Swat Team and Afa, RVD, Tommy Dreamer, prolly more but I can't remember them all. Nash was twice actually. yes.gif

As a huge pro wrestling fan, that is really, really cool. Especially Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, & Mick Foley. 3 of my favorite wrestlers. You know Necro, there's a DVD out about The Ultimate Warrior's wrestling career called "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior". It came out last year I'm pretty sure, I don't own it though but I want it. A lot of people commented on him being an asshole, Triple H I think said he acted very unprofessional. BTW Necro, you say you forgot a few, ever meet The Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H, Kane, or my favorite wrestler: The Undertaker?

I've met Dan Akyroyd back when he did a citizenship court in Kingston in 2000 (my mom worked at them back then so my family always went, nice way to pass Canada Day).

I've met Ron McLean when he was here as part of FebFest (downtown, lots of hockey)

And my brother was lucky enough to have his picture taken!

Wow, some pretty cool stories here, mine are pale by comparison...

I met Kim Mitchell in 1999 when my old band opened for him. He was a really nice guy and a class act, we chatted a bit.

I saw Stevie Wonder at Sam Ash in NYC in 1998, but I am pretty sure he didn't see me smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

I also saw Dan Akroyd at the Cocamo in Kingston when we played there in 2003. He asked our singer's then-girlfriend for a drink at the Blues club next door. Our singer didn't object, and Dan was a gentleman.

I never met Rush, but the closest I've been was behind the press cordon at the ceremony when they were inducted in the Order of Canada in 1997.

Martin Short, in Vegas

Jack Lemon via my sister (she was sweater supplier to the stars, for while)

Had dinner a few times with Lute Olsen, back in my coaching days (grills a mean burger)

Shawn Estes, MLB

Several ex-NFL are friends

This may be the first time I've ever really thought about this. None of them seemed "famous", just very, very nice.

I took Robin (my wife) to the airport today (she's visiting her family for Thanksgiving). While waiting on line for her flight (that got cancelled, btw, causing us to go through an extremely long wait to get her rebooked on a later flight angry.gif ) we saw none other than Ron Jeremy!

Ron Jeremy, for those that don't know, has supposedly been in more porn movies than like anyone, ever - well over a thousand. I know him from The Surreal Life (the same season that featured Erik Estrada, Vanilla Ice, Tammy Faye Baker, etc.).

A couple of things were noticably funny about the situation. First of all, what was he doing in Medford, Oregon? Secondly, he looked so like an ordinairy guy who was as flustered as everyone was trying to re-book a flight and running back and forth between various airline counters in a small airport trying to work things out. For a mega porn star, the guy is really pretty short and ordinairy looking, which was also funny. Apparently he's "gifted" in other ways than his stunning good looks that give him his success. wink.gif

He didn't have an entourage, had very un-fancy looking luggage and was wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants. If we hadn't recognized him from that show, he would've looked like any other regular shlub.

Acutally, he looked very approachable and friendly, if understandably flustered. If circumstances were different, we might have said hello.

Anyway, it was cool to have a celebrity sighting here. It doesn't happen very often since I left the L.A. area...

Er, have met and spoken to all of Ash and Devildriver, and Gordon Ramsey, all of whom came to my town either to make a tv show or play a small set at a music shop near me (for some reason they attract big bands there) Saw mr Ramsey in a coffee shop, and hes actually quite a nice bloke.

laugh.gif Yep!

I was talking to my friend Bill (Grandpa Grizz) about this, and he had heard he was in town from a co-worker. I looked it up online and he had done a book signing for a couple of nights at some huge adult store in Medford. Now I know why he was here!

That's pretty awesome.
