Mick

One For The Road was huge when I was in junior high school.  It's the only album of theirs I've ever owned or needed.  Not too long ago I listened to Apple's Essentials.  Suffice to say, a lot of stuff on there that I would argue Apple mischaracterized.

But it is.  Why do feel that it doesn't?

Because the Kinks aren’t in the same solar system as the Beatles.  They’re not in the same solar system as Wings.

Actually, it’s the original Roth-era’s third best album.

Your musical taste is quite sad.

Fair Warning is good.  It seems to be loved by VH fanboys, but it's not that interesting, other than a few songs.

Yeah for me personally, as ground breaking as VH I really, really  was

I also equally enjoy to the same extent:

British Sea Power- Open Season

I guess I'm in an indie mood. British Sea Power are the British Arcade Fire, and sorely underrated. This is an exquisite album, I forgot about them until today!

Drove 620 km a few days ago to visit our Fleet Foxes-loving youngest daughter a few states away. We played their third album, Crack-Up, in the background that first evening as we caught up. ♥️

I adore that album, but its the one I find the hardest to listen too. It's a very intense album, a lot of feeling in it.

I want to play it now!

While it is just an opinion, I would be willing to bet you a fair amount of money that in the population at large, my opinion has at least double the number of adherents yours does.
