Van Halen had a habit of covering a song and making the original obsolete.  In the Midnight Hour was recorded for 1984 according to a Circus magazine article I read right before 1984 came out.  Shame we never heard it.

If you hear a bar band cover You Really Got Me now, I suspect you're going to hear them doing a cover of the cover.  They won't be able to get the guitar down perfectly, of course.

Kinks version >>VH version.  Come on dude.

Sketches Of Spain | Miles Davis Official Site

One of my top three Miles Davis albums! Alongside Kind Of Blue and a French movie soundtrack I care not to try and spell

Really enjoy her music.

She's amazing. Have you heard Boygenius? It's a collaboration between her and two other big indie singers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

I need to spin the boygenius record again. I liked a lot of it but it didn’t seem as cohesive as I’d hoped.

Jethro Tull -- Rokflote

I gave that a first listen on my recent road trip.  I made it through four or five songs, and my reaction was neutral.  It's not bad, but given the vast Tull discography of truly great music, it just seemed unnecessary

Sound familiar?

Not even close, bro.

To be fair, the Van Halen version is one of the best BEST covers.

If you ain't gonna try and elevate it to your style, what's the point?

Dan Fogelberg-Windows and Walls10/10)

A lot people stop at Innocent age but i continue to here.  it's just as great and up to par as any before.  it is more pop but he mixes it nicely with the classic sound.

Language of Love

Windows And Walls

The Loving Cup

Tucson Arizona

Sweet Magnolia And the Traveling Salesman

Believe in me (maybe my fav Dan Ballad honestly)

Gone Too Far

In fact most days i prefer THIS to innocent Age.  and IA is fab.....but i like this better.

i'm just giving you a hard time, lol

But to me this is the last classic.  Exiles is a hodgepodge with some hidden gems.  but his peak was done.,
