My turn

A7X

1. City of Evil

2. Life is but A Dream..... (Could easily be my fav soon though)

3. The Stage

4. A7X

5.Waking The Fallen

6. Nightmare (good but i'd say the most overrated of the bunch)

7. Hail to the King (at best a fun tribute.....at worst just bland)

8. Sounding The seventh Trumpet.

No album here is bad though

Mick

Meh I remember when you loved The Astonishing and how much you praised Distance Over Time, and that year you enjoyed Foo Fighters a lot...hated on Endgame but loved Cats...

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

we got to have a wrestling chat soon.

been busy since i'm now an uncle.

Mick

It's more enjoyable to watch now that Vince isn't fully in charge anymore but there really isn't much that makes it feel "must see".

I'm really big on Cody atm but I think him losing was the right call. I was livid the night it happened, but that's the fun of wrestling.

Forbidden Door looks like it may be a must-watch event though based solely on the two matches announced.

plus now we're getting the bloodline implosion which is super fun.  gonna be fun watching crazy roman as he loses his power over the fam.  he'll go NUTS.

Forbidden door we'll be fire so far.  can't wait.

Pearl Jam:

1. Ten

2. Vitalogy

3. Riot Act

4. Vs

5. Binaural

6. Pearl Jam ("Avocado")

7. Yield

8. No Code

9. Backspacer

10. Lightning Bolt

11. Gigaton

I don't do numbered ratings anymore, but if I did, albums 1-10 would rate from an 8 to a 10 for me.

Gigaton just hasn't won me over yet. Granted, I've not listened to it that much.

It really hurt putting albums as strong as those I rated 6-10 out of my top five.

I love Pearl Jam. They are like a grunge Springsteen for me. Makes sense to me they have shared a producer (Brenda's O'brien).

Mick

Interviews together, Springsteen inspired by them, them by him, etc etc

Nah they don't sound like Springsteen, but if you listen to nineties and 00s Springsteen, I find there are times Bruce seems to copy his tone a little. And Brendan was chosen for a reason.

Fun fact: he also produced Crack The Skye.

No, I don't think musically they are similar, but there are moments here and there where the two collide. Especially of you listen to Bruce live in the seventies, stripped of studio production.

On one hand, I want to say RIOT ACT IS GREAT I'M SICK OF PEOPLE SAYING IT ISN'T. And then I see you put Avocado in your top three?

Dude, that is correct. I love that album! It definitely deserves a high placement!

In anticipation of In Times New Roman, I'll do Queens of the Stone Age:

Like Clockwork

Era Vulgaris

Songs for the Deaf

Lullabies to Paralyze

Queens of the Stone Age

Rated R

Villains

They're all really good still. I still like Villains and Rated R a lot.

Just got done acquainting myself with the last 20-odd pages of this thread since I last posted in it, more than three years ago (!)…and the only bands I’ve listed in this venture are the Black Crowes and Steely Dan. Certainly I’ve got more up my sleeve. I’ll get to it.

At least in another year or two. Lmao…

Avenged Sevenfold:

8. Life Is But A Dream...

Life Is But A Dream... a title that brings to mind stories that definitely could be about a princess. Why? Cos this is a car crash.

7. Sounding The Seventh Trumpet

I like it. Definitely sounds like a debut, there is good stuff here but it's pretty generic.

6. Nightmare

Some fans think this is their best work, and it deserves to be recognised as such. I love it, just not as much as other albums.

5. Waking The Fallen

I feel this should be my favourite. My god, when I was 15 I thought this was incredible. But alas, I'm not 15 anymore.

4. The Stage

The band went full prog, epic, bombastic, and I love it. I didn't like it when it came out, but it's grown on me. I do suspect the same will happen with the new album, just not today.

3. Avenged Sevenfold

Apparently this album was divisive when it came out. I remember hearing apparently the fans weren't happy...but what I actually saw was massive sales, huge singles, happy fans and...Well...I love this album.

2. Hail To The King

"This album is generic, they are ripping off all classic metal bands, it's pandering to the mainstream".

Of all the so called "black albums"- you know, that album where a hard edged metal band softens somewhat and writes songs your nan can singalong too as she fingerblasts her arthritis into oblivion on a cold night- this one is my favourite.

1. City Of Evil

It's just a masterpiece.

Well yay! The new album is blowing me away.

Sooooo...

The albums I can't really choose between, I love them all about equal:

1. City Of Evil

2. Avenged Sevenfold

3. ...Life Is But A Dream

=. The Stage

5. Hail To The King

And then it drops:

6. Waking The Fallen

7. Nightmare

8. Sounding The Seventh Trumpet

The "haha no i swear, I really am not a big Madonna fan, I just like the odd album here and there...oh and then these albums as well are very good. I kinda also love them hahaha, no seriously I'm not a big fan. Piss off I'm a metalhead":

6. American Life

7. Confessions On A Dancefloor

8. Like A Virgin

9. Music

The fruatratingly "it's alright, like eh":

10. Madonna

11. Rebel Heart

12. Hard Candy

The "I credit her ambtion and admire her boldness but eew no thanks":

13. Madame X

The "I'd like to talk to your manager please, this ain't it":
