Van Halen - Diver Down Yeah, yeah...it's loaded with covers. But the covers are genius, and beginning to end this may be the best collection of Eddie's full range of playing styles. 4

Thin Lizzy - Vagabonds Of The Western World shame Whisky In The Jar didn't make it on the album (though it's now a bonus track on the deluxe edition), and many of the songs are a bit...unruly...but that's just charming to me. And the guitar work is incredible! I also love hearing Phil's playing in the power trio format.

Mithrandir Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 2. In Through The Out Door - ZepWhat flaws? And please don't say "Hot Dog" because that song is so damn cool! 1
Rick N. Backer Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Are we supposed to be building a list here, or just naming off albums? I hope it's the latter (even though I was a follower above ;)) Guns N Roses -Use Your Illusion 1 & 2. I get it. They're bloated. Because the CD had emerged as the dominant format, so you didn't need to cut songs to make it onto a vinyl side. And because every tune on both albums has something redeeming about it. :) 2
chemistry1973 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) I love this album, despite the dated keyboards and Simmons pads. And there's this aural abortion of a song: Still - I love the album. I have problems. Edited June 4, 2019 by chemistry1973 2
bluefox4000 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Because of Lorraine's Thread. Minute By Minute-The Doobie Brothers. one could argue the flaw is Michael Mcdonald :laughing guy: :laughing guy: :laughing guy: :laughing guy: Mick 2
chemistry1973 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Striking artwork. It’s the World Trade Center no?

Entre_Perpetuo Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 What do you mean by despite its flaws? Like, name an album that you love, even though you recognize it's not a perfect record and/or could obviously be better. 1

But Teakbois will always be a steaming pile! Feel better now? Edited June 4, 2019 by pjbear05 2
Entre_Perpetuo Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Yes - Fragile sue me, but the solo songs just aren't as good as the full band pieces and they break up the flow of the album but I love it anyway. Not like there's anything BAD on here (although I'm not sure "5 percent for nothing" is good) 1

Now while i enjoy the short solo songs, imagine Fragile with America instead of those short individual songs!
