Not even close at this point in time. But my taste goes in cycles.

I'm also not a believer in that foolish "True Rush Fan" crap that certain ones troll around this place in some elitist fashion.

But I agree with Mick, if we round it down just to era's, Fly By Night through to Counterparts is one of my all time favourite era's in music of any band.

But right now, they aren't in regukar rotation and won't be for a long while, aside from the odd album spin.

Yes. Rush 1 and Yes 1A. Has never changed and at this point it certainly won't...

1. Beatles

2. Who

3. Rush

4. XTC

5. Clapton in all his assorted bands and solos

6. Stones although I haven't listened to them in years. They were very important from 60's through late 70's

You like some, you dislike some. Most of us are like that.

Very very few TRFers actually like EVERYTHING from Rush.

In this poll of just 21st century Rush songs, only 1 out of 43 voters liked ALL of it:

ONE!

Having posted that all these other bands pop up. Cheap Trick, Deep Purple, Queen, Jellyfish, Fountains of Wayne, Ben Folds, etc., etc. how do I pick 3 or 5 or 10?

They've been my favorite since the mid 90s and that hasn't changed. Iron Maiden is my second favorite. They're the only band that ever challenges Rush for the top spot. But no matter what, Rush always seems to remain there.

Rush from 74-87 are definitely one of my faves, though I haven't listened to them much lately....

Other faves of mine that are in a sort of loose rotation are:

Manic Street Preachers(first three albums plus Journal for Plague Lovers)

The Wildhearts

New Model Army

Iron Maiden (80s)

Slayer (first three albums)

Metallica (first three albums)

Yes

No, they are only one of them, but not my most favorite.

Believe it or not, without many of you TRFers, Rush loses a lot of appeal for me.

i can count on one hand the number of times i've played Rush over the last couple years.

What I'm trying to say is that this place has saved me so many times.

You will never know how many good times I've had on here, and how much I've laughed on here.

And it's on account of Rush that any one of us is here. Rush is special to me because of that.

Without many of you, Rush would just be another band with good music.

Rush is in that top tier of bands and artists for me .. I listen to them everyday, at least a few songs here and there, if not entire albums ..

Despite being a fan since 1977, with such a diverse catalog, their music is always inspiring ..

Option 2 for me.

For me top 5:

1.Deep Purple (1970-75)

2.Black Sabbath (1970-75)

3.Led Zeppelin (1969-1975)

4.Rush (1975-1985)

5.Iron Maiden (whole 80's) - edges out Queen

What about PRIEST??

Probably in my top 15.

You better take that back and then go and put them in your top 5 at number 1! And make it snappy! :bitchslap:
