I see a lot of love for Quadrophenia. Great album but I'd rank it #3.

Oh, on February 7, 1969 ( 48 years ago today ) Pinball Wizard was record for Tommy.

The bass is perfect.

Who's Next. 9 tracks, each of which is a classic. Not many bands can say that they released an album with zero filler on it. The Who can't say it about any other album of theirs.

But they can about this baby.

This. The songs are so excellent that "Baba O'Riley" has become overplayed, and "Won't Get Fooled Again" almost so; but when it first was released it was just so wonderful from beginning to end. Still is. In one interview somewhere, Geddy remarks that it would be his Desert Island Disc- the one album he would pick to be stranded on a desert island with. I can see why!

I'm giving "Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy" a shoutout as well ! It doesn't really count as a studio album I guess, since it's really Greatest Hits part I or something, but so much goodness in one place is awesome. "I Can See for Miles", "Magic Bus", "Boris the Spider"; it was great listening for a long time.
