  4. Side 2 is killer. Flip sides A & B and maybe re-tool the song order and I think the album as a whole is much better.

  6. Yeah but that's a little bit expensive, especially if you have every single album about 12 times already.

  8. Last night's game in Vancouver was a topsy turvy event. Avs found themselves down 2-0 early in the game and when the Canucks scored again in the 2nd period, it looked like it wasn't their night. Mikko scores a goal with 2 seconds left in the 2nd period, so there's a chance. Avs come out hard and tie it up 3-3 in the third. It was going to overtime but Vancouver hit the puck over the glass with time running out. So Avs get a power play in OT and win it with a crazy bounce off Nichushkin's visor. Crazy

  14. That was my #1 for a long time, but Making Movies has taken the top spot in recent years. The songs on that album are really fun to play and sing.

  16. I generally travel abroad every two to three years, mostly to Europe. My last trip was a three-week visit to Ireland. With COVID and such it's been nearly six years since that trip, and, having no intention to travel, I didn't pay attention to my passport renewal date and it expired. So I had to renew. Big Gov beaurocracy nightmare coming my way, right? Two weeks ago I set up an appointment to do the paperwork in small town courthouse 20 minutes south of here. No line, photo on site, pleasant conversation. The cherry on top...my passport arrived today. Two. Weeks.

  19. Peaches En Regalia alone gives the album a top 15 spot for me. I'll admit the rest of the album isn't up to par with that track, but it's still great.

  21. i'll tell you why....i'm not a fan of all instrumental albums. simple as that. i appreciate the talent on there but i get bored really quick if there's no vocals. i can deal with an isolated instrumental on an album. which Zappa has done too. but a full album i just zone out. i mean it does have one vocal in Willie The Pimp but that's it, Mick

  25. I could never get too into Sleep Dirt or Them or Us, maybe I should give those another shot. Even doing a top 15 for Zappa is pretty difficult tbh, but Joe's Garage would have to be my #1, and I know a few of the albums you listed would overlap.

  26. Avs start out slow against Calgary but made up for it with a 5 goal burst in the 2nd period. I can see why Avs got some extra bodies at the deadline rather than another goalie. Had Lekhonen and Parise out with illness/injuries. Just lost Logan O'Connor for the season (hip surgery). The big line is scoring like a machine. MacKinnon kept up his points and will pass his own scoring record with one more goal. Nichushkin picked up where he left off, has helped the power play get back on track. Mikko had 4 points last night as well. Now tonight will be in Vancouver, this should be a big game.

  28. Ok Zappa. i have decided to give you my 15 favs but ranked . now just to put this in perspective. he released about 60 albums JUST IN HIS LIFETIME. And i don't know how many more posthumously. i will include live albums in here. because every live album always had new material not on studio albums. and really all his live stuff had numerous studio overdubs anyway. with that in mind. and BTW i hope this helps budding fans who might be interested 1. Over-Nite Sensation 2. Zappa In New York (live) 3. Apostrophe 4. Shiek Yerbouti (semi live with Studio Elements) 5. Roxy & Elsewhere (live) 6. Zoot Allures 7. Tinseltown Rebellion (live) 8. You Are What You Is 9. Joe's Garage 10. One Size Fits All 11. You Can't Do that On Stage Anymore vol 1 (live) 12. You Can't Do that....Vol. 2 (live) 13. We're only In it For the Money 14. Sleep Dirt 15. Them or us. those are my fav 15. if any interests you and you feel hooked. there's plenty more out there but i feel ANY of these are good starts. Mick

  32. Very well executed. You guys kept the tempo under control, and your drummer in particular seemed very much in control, taking his time to execute the fills with precision.

  35. I'll have to listen to Dire Straits a lot more before deciding on a ranking I'm comfortable with for them, but I'm pretty sure "Love Over Gold" will come in first..

  40. East of Eden could be the best novel I’ve ever read. I’ll hold off crowning it the champ until I reread it in a year or two. I’m most of the way through Of Mice and Man, and it’s good, but just so much less universal and ambitious. Perhaps I shouldn’t have started with the best.

  42. I don't read many graphic novels but I recently read Star Wars: Kanan Ominbus. Been re-watching the Clone Wars animated series and Rebels so this gave some good background story on Kanan. Wasn't linear storyline but enjoyed it.
