  1. Judas Priest- Painkiller It's mad that an albums as great as this, and this sure is a masterpiece, isn't even close to being my favourite Judas Priest album. Gosh, I love this band! New album has me excited again. So, whilst we wait, I shall happily replay the classics!

  2. To be fair, a lot of modern country is more pop-country. Four-chord pop music with autotuned vocals, with a bit of country twang. Beyonce's lyrics refer to boots, booze, hoedowns and Texas, with what sounds like a banjo in the background. These days that's pretty much all you need.

  10. I just watched the marriage counseling episode. Maybe it was the THC edibles but I thought it was hysterically funny.

  11. I listened to a handful of Joyous Wolf yesterday. Notes of Sammy Hagar, Queensrÿche, leather, espresso, mesquite and warm bread. Good stuff!

  18. My boss started playing a live "Triumph" album on his radio today and said "These guys are the best three piece band to come out of Canada" - I laughed and said "bullshit", to which he responded, "I'm serious" Hipster boomer... He knew what he was doing.

  21. You have me there. 80-ish percent of my country playlist is pre-1990. As far as your description of current "country" is concerned, it seems the drugstore cowboys (as we used to call them in Texas) have infiltrated country music!! P.S. It's great to see you again, Bub! I hope you & yours are well.

  22. Cool! In 86 I married and moved to South Florida, when it started up again, by way of ESPN showing AWA, and a whole new gang: Nick Bockwinkel, Verne & Greg Gagne, The Midnight Rockers, Larry Zybysko, and this huge, hairy, bearded crazy man named King Kong Bruiser Brody. By the time the AWA died, something really nuts began in 1994 when a rogue element of the NWA on the East Coast broke off and went hardcore, bringing on ECW and a whole other group of crazies. I still miss that gang. Nowadays I'm still watching, mostly AEW and TNA. My main man is Jon Moxley, the guy can be bleeding like a stuck pig and just keeps coming on.

  25. Amigo the Devil - Yours Until The War Is Over He probably has the best silly turn of a phrase I've ever heard from an artist. This was a great silly folk album. I think this guy is going to blow up a bit more in the next few years.

  26. Like with Lady GaGa there are more than a handful of Swift songs I like. Many center-right people that look at issues from all sides then decide are fascinated with Swift hoping she'll start an OnlyFans account. The rest is just noise.

  30. Some of these are issues that need to be tackled. As long as there's a democracy there's a chance to do it. Some of these are issues that have existed for decades, and while they could/should get tackled it's not one political affiliation to blame for their perpetuation. Can I just say that contrarianism isn't a platform for a political party? Or is that too specific to trigger the righties?

  31. Indeed. The democrats are crazy on this issue and should focus more on actual issues.

  32. To be clear, the degree and depth of ridiculous is clear though. This is not a "good people on both sides" situation at this moment in time in the USA. I will always refuse normalization of conspiracy theorist agenda and the people complicit in encouraging/supporting/allowing it.

  37. You're (rightly) catching shit because instead of starting a thread simply celebrating Beyonce's accomplishment, you saw it as an opportunity to do a little race-baiting. Totally immature and unnecessary, but on-brand for you Oh and, Darius Rucker has been a popular mainstream country star for years now after crossing over from pop music, and country fans aren't getting bent about it.
