  1. Rush- Permanent Waves Rush- Hold Your Fire Two absolutely sublime albums. As close to perfect as music can get in my opinion.

  5. In '93, I think, I had tickets to a Alice in Chains show; I remember that Masters of Reality opened. Springfield Shrine Mosque, Spfld, MO. There was a longish break before Alice took the stage, they played two or three songs, left the stage, came back, played one more song, left again. Then one of the band members came back out, shouted in the microphone, "I came here to play some f*****g rock and roll!" and then he walked off again. Long pause. A road crew type came out and announced the show was over and we should all go home. The crowd booed lustily, then started throwing the folding chairs that made up the center seating. At that point, my fiancée and I left. It didn't go full riot, but there was some damage done. There was never any explanation (uh, drugs, pretty clearly) and no refunds.

  6. Boston- Boston I though I had burned out on this album. I hadn't played it in a long while. Nope! I remain super enamored by it! A truly faultless album.

  9. Alan Parsons Project-Gaudi 10/10) After the lackluster Sterotomy (not bad.....But with APP it's the closet you'll get to a bad album) they close they're career with this fantastic record. Mick

  14. What a typically selfless gesture, that he should send this fridge, of all of his fridges, to be with us tonight.

  17. Yes, you always talk, you Chicagoans. You talk and you talk and say, "Let me tell you something" and "I just wanna say this." Well, you're dead now, so shut up!

  18. One time about 6 years ago I went to see Ghostface Killah in Portland (Oregon) and he just no-showed. Found out after the fact that he wasn't even in town and his booking agents thought they had booked a show in Portland, Maine.

  20. Have you heard this band before? They're a mix of 80s goth and traditional metal. I heard this on Liquid Metal the other day and found it interesting.

  23. Panic! At The Disco - Viva Las Vengeance I’m telling you, Pretty. Odd. should feel very lucky it’s been in my life so much longer than this. That’s really the only reason I’m not automatically declaring this their best album ever. What it is though? This is a worthy competitor to The Black Parade’s throne. Fall Out Boy doesn’t have one. Even Paramore, whom I love and adore across the board, doesn’t quite have one. Twenty One Pilots came close with Trench. In terms of mall emo, Panic and MCR are the only bands with a record of this caliber.

  28. Thank you for sharing these memories. Here on the other side of the great Atlantic Ocean these natural disasters were watched in TV news, and I can only imagine how terrifying these hurricanes were.

  30. Rush- Permanent Waves Something I always marvel at with this album is the fact it would truly be as great instrumental as it is with vocals. Just beautiful playing all round, maybe Alex's best album.

  31. Brace yourselves. Today at the park I saw not only great egrets but a fine blooming specimen of Lobelia cardinalis. Now that I've exposed myself as a plant nerd I'll be on my way.

  32. Been quiet here, USA gets booted from the Juniors by Czechia Very disappointing. On the trade front, Jack Johnson signs a one year deal with the Hawks, guess he figured he'd try to help them out or wants to play one more year? Today Calgary signed Kadri to a 7 year contract, Avs will continue to see him now, guess Flames needed him after losing Johnny Hockey and Tkachuk. They could be scary now with Huberdeau and Campbell in goal.
