  3. Went to see Terry Bozzio last Friday: Look at this drum kit - 8 bass drums, one tuned to each musical note: And just one block away, Alex's night club:

  13. Cool! Any major differences between the blu-ray and the old-school dvd? Gonna watch the 30th Anniversary Edition this evening. Love this damn movie! I f*cking love the scene on the Orca at night, where Hooper, Brody, and Quint are drinking and comparing scars, and all of a sudden Robert Shaw is talking to your soul. INTENSE! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-96H-8P0OUIU/T7R9FDfol3I/AAAAAAAAAAs/s_p7VBupARQ/s1600/quint.jpg "Ya know, the thing about a shark, he's got...lifeless eyes, black eyes -- like a doll's eyes..."

  20. I was just out with some buddies at the bar, and the crowd was a little older and super low key; so we decided to blow up the jukebox with old country... We were mixing in classic rock, and I even got Working Man a spin, but for the most part it was stuff like Alan Jackson, Garth, Clint Black, George Strait and Reba... It ended up being kind of a big hit and I had a few strangers getting in on it. It turned a pretty mild night into something unexpected and satisfying. I know country isn't for everyone; but damn, that early 90s country was amazing. If /anyone thinks of an old relic they want to share, I thought it'd be cool to have a thread. Here's a few I heard tonight... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvZ5E5_Uuik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zEo4JI11_w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB97u_-7nfQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ1RHl2boHg

  22. If you’ve never had Gino’s East or Lou Malnati’s deep dish, you haven’t had the best deep dish. The stuff is amazing. Pizzeria Uno is dog food compared to Gino’s or Lou’s, yet it’s Pizzeria Uno’s That I see outside of Illinois.

  24. My folks liked Willie, Waylon, Cash, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, all kinds of stuff like that. We would watch Hee Haw. Part of the soundtrack of my youth, along with '70's pop. I don't mind some new country. Really depends on what.

  25. not to be a prick but if you can't think of any great songs shorter than two minutes, you need to check out something besides metal and prog rock

  27. The Elder is absolutely brilliant. I love that album. Massively underrated & takes a good deal of abuse from music fans generally. Yes it's mad & straight out of left field but so what? If Kiss did a show where they played this all the way through (for which there is a Kiss Army petition!) I would travel anywhere in the world to see it. I also like Kilroy & think that was unfairly treated by the fans too, but The Elder is one of the great unfairly maligned gems of rock!

  28. Great poll buddy! I don't care what the haters say or type. I love both albums! I saw STYX a few months ago and they played "Mr Roboto" for the first time since that tour! Loved it! Otherwise the guys in STYX are now simply robotic. Sad. That being said, I know "The Elder" gets a lot of shit too. To me it's a fuckking masterpiece. I feel sorry for humans who just can't get it. Probably the same people who masturbate to "Tom Sawyer" every night before bed.

  30. The Elder has aged better for me, probably because I had such a love/hate thing for it when it first came out .. Plus, the blow of The Elder was softened a bit when Kiss followed it up with Creatures Of The Night .. There is also a mystique around that album because of the grandiose tour plans that fell apart before any of it got off the ground -- the only live performance being that three song set on the TV show Fridays in 1982 ... I really don;t remember a lot about Kilroy, and I should go back and listen to it in its entirety .. I'll say this : the concept thing was popular at the time, and looking back, I really have grown to like that era .. and speaking of time, ELO's Time is a favorite of mine .... Not sure if Alan Parson's Eye In The Sky is considered a concept alum, but that's another from that wonderful moment in history .. Heck, I even love Neil Young's "Trans" anyways, as predictable as it is, Music From The Elder win this one for me

  31. I’ve been to Johns Pizza Co once that they had peanut butter inside the crust and it’s awful. As someone with Italian heritage on my moms side, I’m fired up like Sonny Corleone. Artichoke is an underrated topping, though. And, yes, I get the irony that James Caan isn’t Italian in real life.

  32. Rumors have dogged Rahm Emanuel for years that he uses tax payer’s dollars to have Gerry’s of Hoboken, NJ ship pizza packed in dry ice to his residence in Chicago.

  33. No. How about a Rush vs Carly Rae Jepsen thread instead? Why ‘no’? Because debating the musical merits of Rush v Jepsen is a closer call. For example, there is no parallel blot on Jepsen's career to the synth era. So you think Chicago pizza votes will murder NY pizza votes? Murder, something Chicago is good at. I’d like to murder a few slices of Chicago pizza now as a matter of fact.

  34. Chicago style pizza is the best food ever conceived of, made, and eaten, and the best there ever will be. If there weren't already a million reasons for NY to secede, the fact that they call cheese and crackers pizza would be sufficient.

  35. Shoot, Chicago-style pizza is just what I'm gunning for. I'd kill for a slice!

  36. Well, bring on the old school pics of your sister in her bathing suit while mowing the lawn! I’m flexible though - the bathing suit pics don’t have to be with her mowing the lawn! :P Is that you in the picture BC? No, but very similar! I am feeing old school today, so here are two actual photos of us from the 70's. I am the girl on the far right in the first photo and the second photo is my sister in her favorite swimsuit; she was a heartbreaker. And where is all the silver duck tape holding that kill switch against the handle ???
