  1. Lorraine, you know that mess that Brucey made? Looks like something similar happened beside the chair. I'm sure it was Brucey. I'm, uh, just stepping out for some air...Great party, by the way, although I think HemiBeers is getting tired of your REM boxset.

  3. True, but Tony Iommi is the ultimate riff master. And yes, I'm the one who voted for him.

  5. Jimi and SRV phenomenal talents no doubt. I think the real difference was that Jimi truely transformed the guitar whereas SRV pretty much stuck to blues with a touch of jazzer. Had Jimi lived I think he would have ventured into a more experimental area or perhaps jazz. Maybe he would have become like the Miles Davis of guitar. I never sensed that SRV was venturing outside of the blues area. So I think I'm talking myself into a Jimi vote. I think his material was more adventurous than SRV.

  6. This is my thought exactly I voted for Stevie Ray, and I could have as easily voted for Eddie or Hendrix .... Steve Howe was tempting But there's no arguing Hendrix I was tempted by Stevie Ray for a moment, also.

  7. I didn’t look at the other votes before I voted Hendrix, just now. In many ways, he is the only logical choice, I feel. No one else revolutionized the instrument the way he did.

  8. Just thought I'd stop by to help clean up, but Brucey beat me to it! He's a very clean fellow, despite the milk accident(s). Thanks for hosting, Lorraine. Hope your records aren't too scratched. Sorry about the shower curtain. Brucey dared me. I brought a replacement that's nearly new. Mind if I borrow your White Album for a second? No, just the cover will do. :P

  11. 588) Into the Wild (goose) This is one of those movies I can watch it over and over. The compelling true story of a young man that gives everything away to live on the road as Alexander Supertramp. Circumstances and naivete lead to his demise, but the in two years leading up to his death he lives more than most people in the Western World likely do their whole lives. Great soundtrack, too.

  12. Ritchie was also a trailblazer and broke ground incorporating the classical influence into his music .. All of the guys on this list have made some incredible contributions to not only the guitar world, but also the music world, and Blackmore is right up there with the best, no doubt Another reality is that I switched my Randy Rhodes vote in the last few hours of the last round. This tied Ritchie for 3rd place (which would've been enough to enter this final). THEN, Ritchie got a couple of more votes which killed Randy off.

I used to sing 'Losing My Religion' but now I sing 'Lost My Razor'. http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Michael+Stipe+70XshVl1SNCm.jpg http://cdn.cnn.com/cnnnext/dam/assets/160323164839-david-letterman-beard-restricted-super-169.jpg

  17. What party? Brucey and Lorraine do not make a party. :laughing guy: Hey I brought two of my friends along, Peter Buck and Mike Mills, and didn't you see my dance moves?!? This party'll get going so it will. looks like 'motor skills development day' in the special ed classroom. This is a party! Not the time to make "special ed" jokes. (Actually, it never really is a good time for those.) ;) No Ring Dings for him. Fine then! I'll just drop a turd in the punch bowl (or a baby ruth). DOODIE!!!

  26. It's okay, you can trust me, I won't ruin your big event, providing that I am given plenty of milk to drink. It's not my "big event." Just trying to liven the place up. Okay I'll rephrase, I promise that I won't ruin the big party providing that I am given plenty of milk to drink. Preferably chocolate milk. Belgian chocolate. Double Belgian chocolate. Triple.

  29. Coming back home into yyz - there is a sea of people waiting for loved ones at the International arrivals terminal as soon as you get your luggage and clear Customs. I was travelling alone and just trying to make my way through the crowd - as I broke through the last of the mob I was walking directly toward Geddy leaning against a column 10 feet in front of me. After thinking for the split second that I had, the next 20 seconds were the most beautifully awkward mix of me smiling, shaking his hand, mumbling something about being a fan etc etc. He handled it in stride, thanked me and we both went about our day. I didn’t stop smiling for a week.

  31. If Kerrang wants me to write for them, they better offer me some ka-ching. So far, the interviews and articles I've done have been a labour of love, with ZERO income. But who knows, maybe one day this can turn into something remotely profitable. By the way, Jordan emailed me thanking me for the article, and I mentioned in my reply how many times I've seen him, all the meets and greets, and the ONE time I met him in the streets of Pamplona and we had a quick chat. He loved to hear about that. So cool to interact with him!

  33. We've all seen good to fair Rush tribute bands. In all the cover bands I've personally been in that do Rush, and with all the other bands that I've seen do Rush, there is always a certain rock edge but a general struggle to get through the song. This one is fresh, smooth, innovative, and, and dare I say, emotional (check out The Pass). Smooth Brazilian female vocals (Gabby), all instruments and production by one awesome dude (Celo). As Rush in Rio testifies, much love for Rush in Brazil. https://www.youtube....next hemisphere Fleesh is a Brazilian Rock project formed by Gabby Vessoni and Celo Oliveira. "The Next Hemisphere" - a Rush Tribute, released on October 2017 available in all digital platforms for buying and streaming. (iTunes, Deezer, Amazon, Google Play and Spotify) Recorded, mixed and mastered by Celo Oliveira at Kolera Home Studio. Artwork by Gabby Vessoni Playlist: The Garden The Pass Bravado Mission The Trees Here Again Losing It The Way the Wind Blows Resist Tears Nobody's Hero Closer to the Heart The Stars Look Down Limelight Note that many of these are the "Rush ballads", so don't expect metal or hard rock versions like Halestorm or Sebastian Bach's stuff, Respect.

  37. Yeah ik and please don't call me sugar Sure thing, honey. Can we not make this thread about me thanks, and I really prefer Cass or Perm Rush. I prefer “Sire”, “Your Highness”, “mon capitaine” but JARG never complies. He often says I have small hands. :( It's not exactly what you're looking for MisterRogers but I've always referred to you on my TRF data analysis sheet as John "hands" Rogers, "hands" for short though the size is unspecified. Some things are better left unstated, unquestioned, unanswered, or locked in a vault.

  41. Saw that on HBO two years ago. Made me hate Tom Cruise even more. Just saw that George Michael Freedom documentary on Showtime a few weeks ago and it’s worth checking out. Never expected Liam Gallagher to be a fan of him and Wham. He refers to him as “modern day Elvis.” Oh and Jane Corden was right about Praying For Time being his best song and a good Lennon esque ballad.

  44. Yes, I guess those sets come and go. I recently went to look at the "ABC 1974" cd. (the Agora radio concert) and it's not available anymore either (or it is, someone has it up for like $2100.00. ) If yours is what I'm thinking of, they still have it at Amazon uk here- my son orders from them sometimes. They deliver internationally. https://www.amazon.c... Broadcast 4 cd It is 11.96 pounds, which is about 16.00 US dollars. It looks like around another 6 pounds for delivery (.99 per CD plus 2.09 pound handling); around $ 8.00 US. Have fun shopping! :) (I didn't buy it so I don't know if it's good or not . . .I know there was a thread about it at the time . . ) Well, I was just going to look at this link again, because I swear this set was there last night, but now the link is to a dead page and the set is no longer listed at Amazon.uk. Sorry about that- the set is really gone, I guess. (Unless zappafrank had it taken down- are you Ole/Anthem, zappafrank? Just kidding. ;) )
