I must confess that I have now watched the NCG about 10 times. I don't know if I will ever get tired of watching it. It is a pleasure to see Clemson take that early lead 17-7 only for LSU to outscore them 35-8 the rest of the way, every time. -

Noticed it’s on Starz now since they’re the home for current Sony movies. Ending isn’t too surprising since Well, I was surprised by it. And I have seldom enjoyed such delight regarding a surprise ending as I did in that movie. That was kickass. LOL -

Saw this last night. Great movie. And, yeah, really enjoyed the twist at the end. Did not see that coming. -

It will be interesting to see how Burrow fares in the NFL. Especially when it comes to quarterbacks, Heisman winners often turn out to be flops in the NFL. An article about some of them since 2000: https://www.radio.com/sports/ncaa-football/gallery/heisman-curse-winners-since-2000-who-were-busts-in-nfl -

Final score 42-25, LSU. Clemson got off to a great start, going up 17-7, but then LSU took control of the game and went on a 35-8 run for the rest of the game. I would be lying if I said I was not happy to see Clemson go down like that. Ha! Eat it, Clemson. -

LSU now up by 17 in the 4th. This game is over. And for those of you who love to trash talk the SEC: eat it, again. (you know who you are) SEC 8-2 this year in postseason play, with yet another National Championship. -

Clemson looking rattled at this point. Not used to be down 10 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Panic setting in. LSU should cruise on to win this game handily. -

To state what is probably obvious to just about everybody, Clemson started out gangbusters, going out to a 17-7 lead, but since then LSU has scored 21 unanswered for a halftime lead of 28-17. The first half was a tough physical battle between two excellent teams, but that last touchdown by LSU was probably a back breaker for the game. Considering how good LSU's offense is, I don't see Clemson coming back to win it at this point. Btw, Joe Burrow is friggin awesome. Good fortune to whatever NFL team gets him. -

This may sound silly, but it seems to me that LSU really is this year the proverbial "team of destiny" -- a phrase I almost never use. So, I predict LSU will win handily. But . .. I don't bet on sports games in part because there is really no way of telling ahead of time what team is going to show up for any given game. And there is something about Clemson and Dabo Swinney that nags at me, casting internal doubt on my "team of destiny' feeling for LSU -

All day hype hype hype about the game on ESPN. All too often, the actual game fails to live up to such incessant hype. -

No, I do understand. I am, after all, a fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks, a program with its own long sad history of disappointment and misery. Fortunately for me, I am not an Indiana fan, and so can appreciate what a good exciting game it really was instead of being depressed about it. PS -- I have seldom seen such a wonderfully called and executed onside kick as Tenn pulled on Indiana. I wasn't expecting that, neither was Indiana. The timing of it, and the execution of it, was just about perfect. -

Ducks get the win!!! More west coast dominance. Lol Dominance, my ass. You eat as many turnovers and pens as the Badgers did today, you're going down. Wisconsin dominated offensive plays, yards, and time of possession, and still lost due to screw ups. I think Goose was making a joke about how weak the Pac 12 has been in recent years. But, hey, the Pac 12 has actually finished this bowl season with a winning record, 4-3. Yes, and yes! A return to greatness? :P Great fun, anyway. After yesterday's games, the Pac 12 is the only Power 5 conference other than the SEC to finish with a winning bowl record this year. ACC is going to finish 5-6 at best, probably 4-7. Don't let it go to your head ;) https://bleacherrepo...history#slide50 The 50 Best College Football Bowl Programs in History No. 1: USC Trojans "Record: 32-16 (66 percent) The "V" must stand for victory in January, because the Trojans are the best in the game. The Trojans have appeared in 33 Rose Bowls, which is flat-out ridiculous (36 prime-time bowls: Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta). USC also has the best winning percentage of any program in the country that has appeared in at least 30 bowls. The Trojans have had a prestigious history of winning prime-time games, whether it has been under John Robinson, John McKay or Pete Carroll. Make no mistake about it—they are the best in the sport at playing in the national spotlight." Since that article was written in 2011, the Trojans have appeared mostly in weenie bowls, and have had an overall losing bowl record of 3-4. As for the Rose Bowl: For most of its history, the Rose Bowl was reserved for the champion of the Pac to play the champion of the Big 10 in an incestuous relationship, no matter how bad the respective "champions" might have been. USC's appearance in so many Rose Bowls merely highlights the historical lack of competition they have had in the Pac, and illustrates why the Pac was often called the "Pac-1" with justification. So there ;) Edit: hell, the more one looks at USC's bowl game history, the sillier the claims in the article appear. For example, throw out the ancient days when football really wasn't even the same sport it is today, and USC's bowl record looks far less impressive than the article makes it appear. USC's greatest bowl winning streak, by far, was its first 9 bowl games, all victories, and all before the end of WWII . GTFO with that meaningless ancient crap ;) -

ACC is 4-5 with two games left. I predict it will end at 4-7. (Boston College will lose to Cincinnati, Clemson will lose to LSU) Big 10 is 4-4 with one game left. I predict it will end at 4-5. (Sorry, LABT, but I think Indiana is going to lose to Tennessee. Tennessee got off to an awful start this year, but turned things around later, winning its last 5 games and 6 of the last 7, only loss in the last 7 games being to Bama. That said, I will not be disappointed if Indiana wins, got to give some love to long suffering programs like Indiana ;) ) SEC is 6-2 with two games left. I predict it will end at 8-2 -
Funny thing is, I wanted Ohio State to win. I wanted to see Clemson knocked out of contention. I do not want to see Clemson win a 3rd NC in 4 years, not at all. So, now it falls to LSU to keep that from happening . . . I can't remember being so ambivalent about such an important game. I know it sounds stupid, but the whole thing around "THE", just shut up, osu-Columbus. And I probably will be about the championship game, too. I don't want to see the SEC win again, but a win could make LSU the league's prominent program and anything that hurts Saban is a huge positive. Plus, Burrow seems like a good guy. A win for LSU sidelines Bama and Saban. Meditate on it. Then pull for LSU.

Yes, it was. I actually wanted Ohio State to win, though I did not think that was going to happen. Now I just hope that LSU stomps the shit out of Clemson. -

It's over. Clemson is taking control of the game and is going to win. Ohio State had a chance to put Clemson away early and completely blew it. The only question now is how big a margin of victory Clemson is going to have in the end. Clemson has been in control for a quarter and a half now, yes. But it most certainly is not over. Contrary to the know it alls, it isn't "over" even after Clemson scored the go ahead TD. There's still a lot of time left. Is it over yet?

Clemson has to feel good about where they are, having held OSU to only one touchdown. yep. Ohio State has given it their best shot and come up short. Look for Clemson to dominate this game more and more the longer it goes on. -

Define “lately.” Their record this century isn’t too good in bowl games. Their record in basketball is even worse over a longer period. Ask Danny Manning. You are addressing your question to a poster who once chastised me for talking about the last 20 years of college football. He accused me of being arbitrarily cherry picking in my choice of dates. -

Regarding Clemson v Ohio State: I am unimpressed by either team. LSU is probably going to stomp whoever wins this game. That said, Clemson is going to win this game. Clemson had a hard time adjusting early on to the fact that its opponent was not a creampuff victim as usual, but has now adjusted and is going to beat Ohio State in the end, perhaps by a lot. Ohio State had a chance to put Clemson deep in the hole early on, but completely blew that chance, being unimpressive and all.
