I was at funeral today (stick with me here). My best friend's dad died this week, my wife and I were sitting in the back of the room of the funeral home with friends. Sitting next to my wife is one of our buddies, and his four month old son is standing on his lap. The priest had finished his part, and the Army color guard was folding up the flag to present to my best friend's mom. Taps had just finished playing, and there wasn't a sound in the room....until my buddy's four month old ripped a gargantuan fart! Just as we all started to stop laughing, the little guy trumpeted two more times. Another friend's wife was laughing so hard, she was snorting and had to leave the room. At that point, I had tears in my eyes. It's times like this that I know that God has a terrific sense of humor. :) And wouldn't you know it, after the funeral, three different people came up and asked me if I was the one with the flatuence!4 points

Why? Just a feeling or have you seen clues? A very, very strong gut feeling. So remember, if they do, you heard it first from Lorraine. :)3 points

I hate any comparison to Springsteen. Or Springsteen to Rush. Don't like his music at all. None of it. Silly thread BTW.2 points

How beautiful! I had to have a really good look, and only just managed to see a cat-like appearance in the first two pics. :) I think it's the long legs in the second picture that are particularly cat-like. I imagine they'd make a cute pet2 points

I won't do it either. Bring on the palm faces. :D BTW, Giving 2112 just one star is just insane! :crazy:2 points

In a dog's life A year is really more like seven And all too soon a canine Will be chasing cars in doggie heaven It seems to me As we make our own few circles 'round the sun We get it backwards And our seven years go by like one Dog years...It's the season of the itch Dog years...With every scratch it reappears2 points

01 June 2014 Sunday Western Quoll The chudditch is commonly known by two other names, the western quoll and the western native cat. This species has become endangered due to loss of habitat and increased predator activity. Fires account for much of the habitat loss. The chudditch can be found in the Jarrah Forest located in south Western Australia, the population of the species in that location is estimated at 3,000 animals. This species is regarded as the largest marsupial predator located in Western Australia. A chudditch prefers dryer climates such as the open savannah and dry woodlands. This animal will live in a burrow (that can be dug by another animal or itself) or in a tree hollow. When the temperature is below freezing, the chudditch can continue with its everyday life with ease. Although a chudditch prefers to remain on the ground, it can climb trees if necessary. In the wild this species is mostly spotted alone, in captivity the chudditch will live in a group. This species is well adjusted to live with humans and will eat trash from trash bins if necessary. Also, the chudditch will attack a chicken farm or even a chicken coop that only has 10 chickens inside.* In an undisturbed habitat, the chudditch prefers to eat insects, birds, mice, lizards, frogs, etc. http://i.imgur.com/EfLz8cz.png http://i.imgur.com/uzQKOPO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pb14ZTz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DQJ6LwD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/B9tRelR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Pu48GpT.jpg * They ignore coops with fewer than 10 chickens? Again, I didn't write this -or bother to tweak it.2 points

There is only one possession I have that I can not imagine losing. It is the one possession that I have always had, it has traveled the nation with me, and it has been there through thick and thin. While I've gone through years of my life where it's been packed away in a box, and through long periods of life where I've forgotten it existed, it's always been waiting patiently for me to come back. I'm not sure where he came from or who made him, but as far as I can remember, I have always had my Teddy Bear, Lukey. He survived my early childhood years, despite being dragged through the dirt and spilled jukeboxes of my formative years. He survived through my kid years, where he was played with hard as the giant bear nemesis of my Jim Kirk and Alan Grant action figures. He spent many of my teen years in a box in the closet, almost forgotten, but always ready to come back as soon as I wanted to see him. He's spent recent years sitting up on a shelf in my room, prominently displayed as the prized possession that he really is. If my house was on fire, and there was only time for one thing to grab, he would be it. There is something special about a Teddy Bear. Every child should be given a Teddy Bear. It symbolizes a constancy, a reflection of their own growth and development- it is an avatar of the journey of their life. He's seen better days, he could probably use a good cleaning, his fur is ragged and nappy, the black felt that used to cover his plastic button nose has been gone for the better part of 20 years, and his battle scars show more stitching than a baseball... but he's still in one piece, the rattle in his belly still chirps the same as it always has, and ultimately Lukey is still there every day. He never argues, and never judges anything. He never gets sick, and he never dies. He never betrays, and never lets me down. Every human being should have a Teddy Bear.1 point

I saw Roger on the Dark Side show here and it was pretty amazing I have to say, even without the theatrics of The Wall. Had a much better position than the PF show way back then as well :D I saw that tour as well and totally agree. We need another Waters tour.1 point

Well exactly. I didn't post it for feeling, her age and what she's playing is exceptional, end of. The whole point of THAT solo is feeling. From a technical standpoint it's not a terribly challenging solo to play -- it's not tough to nail the notes. Making the notes cry like Gilmour does is the tough part. IMO the girl does play with feeling, but it's more of an aggressive metal-ish feel rather than a dripping-with-bluesy-emotion one. That was her interpretation and that's fine, but I much prefer the second guy's approach. The second guy for the record is a pro guitarist (He's the new guitarist from Judas Priest, Richie Faulkner) so it's probably not fair to the girl to compare them. .1 point

Since no one has mentioned him yet, I will. Actually, I won't. These lyrics should make it obvious. Baby. Yeah. I want to get away [X4] Yeah I want to get away I want to fly away Yeah with you Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah - - - - - So tell me why we got to die / And kill each other one by one We've got to love and rub-a-dub / We've got to dance and be in love But what I really want to know is Are you gonna go my way ? And I got to got to know Are you gonna go my way ? 'Cause baby I got to know, yeah - - - - - Love transcends all space and time / And love can make a little child smile Oh can't you see / This won't go wrong But we got to be strong / We can't do it alone We got to let love rule Let love rule We got to let love rule Let love rule1 point

Wouldn't say "pissed me off" - but it made me sad and happy.... Found out my barber is retiring at the end of this week. Moving to AZ. I have been seeing him for 10 years now. We because friends and he was an Army Vet. I made a point to call him every Veterans Day and thank him for his service. Man the stories he had. I am really going to miss him, but I am happy that he will get to relax with his wife, playing golf as much as desired. I think I am going to get him a gift of some sort - golf related.1 point

I have a teddy that my parents bought me when I was a baby. He's called Max. He has a partly torn ear but I never wanted to sew it back on. It's part of his charm! He currently resides at my mum's house. A few years back Gilby bought me another bear. He's called Bear. He lives on a shelf here in the bedroom. Before we moved he used to live on the bed. He gets a cuddle every now and then. Here he is: http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb414/lyndseyg2112/20140524_18322_edit_1400953325214.jpg1 point

I was thrilled by CA upon it's release, but it has not stood the test of time. Alex has gotten much less creative tone-wise, Geddy struggles in writing good vocal lines (for the most part), Neil's lyrics don't flow like they used to, and the whole album seems to have a lot less textural diversity than their previous works1 point

I like the album. The songs out now are reasonably indicative of what you're going to get, although I would say that if you like what you've already heard (Sweet Tea and Midnight Oil) there are BETTER songs on this record still coming, so take consolation in that. My trifle is that Andrew Watt, while a competent rhythm player and singer, isn't much of a lead guy....at all, should that mean anything to you. And it might, seeing the band's style has drawn comparisons to Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Those expecting some fine guitar breaks are going to be sorely disappointed. This was the fellow who it's said would make you forget about Joe Bonamassa and Black Country Communion, but that's simply not the case by my estimation. Honestly the album makes the better case that they should be a foursome with a proper lead guitarist than the next great power trio. And while they're heavier and brassier than BCC's blues-rock base, California Breed is not necessarily better. You're not only lacking some much needed quality solos, you're also lacking the texture, color, and space filling organ that was present in BCC. (We knew ahead of time that there would be no keyboards, but the fullness of the songs suffer a bit for this). Anyhow...I'm a long way from having really absorbed the record. Barely at all, in fact, but I do indeed like it and think that with additional listens I'll enjoy it all the more. I am a bit miffed that Watt's burgeoning talents were a bit overstated, though, but that's Glenn Hughes for you too.1 point
