blueschica
Stupid snow..... A week of 40's and 50's melted everything. Now, I'm getting 3-6 inches and 25 mph winds...... Yeah, suddenly we are supposed to get 6-9 inches on Wednesday! After a long dry spell that left the snowpack at 10% of normal, we got a season-saving 4-6 feet last Thursday-Saturday. It made for epic powder skiing. I had some epic snowblower action just 30 minutes ago. Did my neighbor's big driveway in record time! They are lucky to have you nearby! My neighbor, an elderly lady, has a doctor's appointment at 8 am tomorrow. Had to get it done ASAP! She's funny. We haggled on my "fee" for snow removal every winter. I wanted nothing, and she wanted to give me hundreds of dollars. We settled on a small, one-time fee every winter. :D

vaportrailer
Was out on the street just before 8am and already brutally hot, probably low-mid 30s. I think the lows at night are still high 20s.Sorry Fahrenheiters! Dumb question, does any country other than the US still use Fahrenheit? Other than the Stuckinthepast Islands or the Dontwannamakethechange tribe of West Java (aka the Badui). Just asked Google: nope!

United States Ouch. I had no idea! Are the NRA involved somehow? :PYou wacky Imperialists! Edited March 18, 2018 by vaportrailer

We are fine using Celsius for the temperature but when it comes to weights and measurements we are still pretty much stuck using inches, feet and pounds. If you ask a Canadian their height and weight, odds are they will answer with feet, inches and pounds. Even though all of our speed limit road signs are marked in KM about fifty percent of the Canadians will still give distances and speeds in miles. The news reports snowfall in centimeters but I hear people asking all the time "How many inches is that?". After almost 50 years of having the metric system implemented I think we are still resisting it for the most part. Tinwoodsman
10-20 cms of snow heading to the Canadian praries Friday with a 70 km wind ... looks like a good day to watch curling and practice sweeping in the house. A lovely batch of hoar frost greeted us this morning and then promptly disintegrated as the wind escalated. Hang on to yer pets! OldRUSHfan
Sunny, 34°, 54% winds 14 MPH out of the NW. feels like 27° on your skin. Can't wait for the WARMTH to return! Birds are starting to pick up everyday now. Downy Woodpecker is not there everyday, but saw my first Robin two weeks ago, about a month after I usually do.
