So great seeing Bautista get his douchbag ass popped.

http://espn.go.com/m...-media-reaction

I've watched that about a thousand times and could watch it a thousand more. I know Odor should have taken the high road there. But, only a Texas Rangers fan can understand the absolute pleasure of seeing that dickhead get clocked.

Bob Sturm said it best. Bautista is a wanna be tough guy. And wanna be tough guys should start fights with other wanna be tough guys. Instead, he picked a fight with a tough guy. And when you start a fight with a tough guy, you better get ready for the horns.

Yes! Awesome.

Was going to say that while Bautista took his knock like a champ but he absolutely got what he deserved there. Im sure Odor won some brownie points around the league for that one.

Bautista was pretty damn wobbley and blurry eyed. He's damn lucky Beltre grabbed him.

He's lucky it wasn't Beltre who punched him. Guy's a beast.

Yes he is. I'll never understand how any team could have let him leave.

I saw a game when he was still with the Mariners. One of thier pitchers had just gotten popped for PED and Beltre was playing third and rhe guy (Nick Franklin?) was pitching I never saw anyone return the ball harder to a pitcher than Beltre threw back to him. It was high and tight like sending a message to the guy that he f***ed up, rightly so. He may seem prickly but that's the kind if guy you want on your team. Not some asshat like Bautista.

Beltre is the heart of the Texas Rangers. His leadership and the sense of brotherhood he's built in the team is what has made them serious contenders. They genuinely love the game, and they like each other. They take the game of baseball very seriously, but not themselves, and it's a blast watching them play. When Beltre retires, Andrus will lead the team in the same way. I hope Andrus has enough good playing years in him to groom someone to pass the role on to, and so forth.

I think the leader(s) after Beltre is gone will be Odor or Mazara. I love Elvis and he's still my favorite player on the team by a nose over Beltre and Odor. He's simply not deliberate enough to lead the team but the former two are able.

You think so? I guess I've always felt Andrus would be the one to take over since he and Beltre are so close. I'm not sure I agree with you regarding Odor. He's still really young and has a lot of maturing to do. Have you seen the video of the fights he was in when he was in the minors? He would need to cool his jets considerably before he could take on a leadership role. As far as Mazara is concerned, I don't know enough about him except that he's also super young and needs some development.

You're probably right. I didn't consider the ages of the two players. Damn! They are young! Concerning Odor. I'd let him be who he is. He kinda reminds me of Pete Rose with power and less batting average.

I had a filling fall out of my back molar two weeks ago and a quarter of my tooth broke last week. So, I left work early today and made an appointment with the dentist. I'm not fond of pills but I took some heavy doozy pain killers today and I'm having a few beers. Yay!

Interestingly, one of the fights Odor was involved in was with the Vancouver Canadians. Apparently, Rougned is not a fan of Canada. :P

I would post a link to the video, but I'm blocked from doing so here at work. Dude's a badass, that's for sure.

Seriously. But, I can't name but a handful of Rangers players who are actually from the U.S.A. There are probably even less, if ANY, Blue Jays players who are Canadian! Bautista is Dominican, for God's sake.

Bucs' pitcher Ryan Vogelsong taken to the hospital today after being hit near the left eye with a 92 mph pitch from Jordan Lyles of the Rockies. Owwwwww. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with a fractured orbital bone or whatever they are called, but I hope it's not that bad.

Going to Arlington tonight to cheer on the Pirates! Niese vs Hamels.......

Should be a good one! There are some pretty cool ties between these two clubs.

Darvish makes his debut tomorrow.

I can't wait to see how he does. I saw the footage from some rehab games he pitched, and he was throwing some serious fire out there!

Yep. Bought tickets before the Darvish announcement. Bannister was a pirate! Neftali Feliz has resurrected his career and is pitching well for us. Will be in right field, about 10 rows back from the fence....unfortunately with 2 lefty starters not a high probability of a HR coming our way

They are going to take it easy with him...probably limit his pitch count. Usually after elbow reconstruction the last thing that comes back is command. He will probably walk a lot of people but still strike out a ton of dudes. Should be a nice boost for the Rangers

Don't forget about Clint Hurdle.

Looks like the weather will be pretty much perfect for tonights game.

Thats usually the last thing to come back..but he can still be really effective, I would just recommend tempering expectations

Dopey ass Mets have Syndergaard throw at Utley in the third inning, lose 9-1. I hope they suspend the guy 5 games.
