Surprise team of the year.....(drum roll please)

Tampa Bay wins the AL East

Someone got his Baseball Prospectus early this year.

Really? Who picked em? I play fantasy baseball...the rotation has potential to be special this year

Their PECOTA projection system had them winning 91 games and the division.

Ah, I am a fangraphs guy myself. I went to the baseball prospectus website- did I make my prediction prior to PECOTA being released?

I don't believe so, but I only saw it Monday.

Dexter Fowler signs for 3 yrs $35 million with the Orioles.

Good luck, Dexter...he was a joy to watch, great plate discipline, could cover a ton of ground in center, and hit more than the occasional ball out of the park. Your GW HR vs the Rockies was an underrated early season moment...

I was worried he wasn't going to get signed anywhere, and it would've been a shame. One of our best leadoff hitters in recent times and I would've loved to see him come back if Heyward wasn't signed.

Agreed. In fact I'd rather have seen Fowler back and the money spent on Hayward spent somewhere else. But this is great news, Dex gets rewarded, and the Cubbies get a pick.

As long as we don't trade it for Sandsphere or Rick "Eephus" Porcello...

Obviously I meant 73. I think I had 93-79 initially, but I changed it.

And NYY can win 91 with a healthy rotation. They won 87 last season and improved.

WAT

http://m.cubs.mlb.co...-on-1-year-deal

MESA, Ariz. -- The Cubs and outfielder Dexter Fowler have agreed to terms on a 2016 contract with a mutual option for the 2017 campaign. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fowler had reportedly agreed to a three-year contract with Baltimore earlier this week, but the deal was never officially announced. The Cubs would have received a compensatory Draft pick from the Orioles had the deal gone through.

Fowler, who played with the Cubs last season, is a career .267 hitter with a .363 on-base percentage. The 29-year-old switch-hitter played for the Rockies from 2008 to 2013 and for the Astros in 2014. Last year, Fowler batted .250 with a career-best 17 home runs in 156 games.

To make room for Fowler on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup has been placed on the 60-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation.

So it looks like Heyward's gonna be kept in right and Dex will keep his spot at center.

Now WTF is gonna happen with Soler and Schwarber? They won't put Schwarber at catcher while Montero is clearly better for the job, and if Soler's gonna play they're gonna have to put him in left field with Schwarber. I didn't think they'd be too keen on not having Schwarber bat every day.

WOW! That's one hell of a prediction! I like it. But I don't see the Yankees winning the AL WEST.

I love the Astros. They are the new A's. My A's make me sick and you are wrong. The A's will easily lose 100 games.

It's 2016. An even year. The Giants are going to win the World Series.

A given.

Just platoon em....Schwarber cant hit lefties anyway. Bring Soler in close games in the 8th or 9th for a defensive upgrade

Just got done watching the A's dismantle the Royals, 10-1. Coco looked great, the squad is strong... Earl, this could be a return to greatness!
