The list so far...

Chicago: Vienna Dogs Rule, symbol: SuperDawg. http://www.superdawg.com/

x1yyz, thanks so much for putting up the link to the Superdawg website! I love it because the woman talks (a little) like I do, bwa ha ha! I was born in and lived in the midwest as a young girl and still have somewhat of a midwestern 'twang', not the distinct 'yinzer' speech that people often associate with Pittsburgh. Both are probably annoying as hell if you didn't grow up there!

I always kinda laugh when I hear somebody with the true Pittsburgh accent. You can tell the people who grew up here.

I have worked with people from Pitt. so I think I know what you mean. I have been cited myself for my "Chicago accent". Hey, I am who I am! :)

It's so easy to pick up the local dialect after living or working somewhere for a while and you don't even notice it.

And the words! I love it now, but I really remember being in elementary school and having to ask people what "nebby" and "red up" meant! ( being nosy and straightening up a room , for non Pittsburghers.)

I haven't heard those yet, but I've only lived here for just over a year. :)

In Columbus, it was "Don't Step in the Doo Dah."

1940 was a fluke, Doo Dah, Doo Dah.

Pittburguese online. The first entry: "A cue stick", as in, "Did ya hear that acuestick version of Resist?"

In the R40 intro video there is a sign with the name of the current city, plus some fun little blurb about the city. In another thread someone had the brilliant idea of collecting all those cities and blurbs so we don't lose track of them. So, here you go. Let's update this thread with each show.

Tulsa: A Great Place For Drag

Lincoln: Home of the Real Red Sea

Twin Cities: Two Is Better Than One?????

St. Louis: Go Cards Go

Austin: Keeping It Weird

Dallas: Our Cheerleaders Are Better

Houston: The Capital of Air Conditioning

Toronto was "Go Jays Go"

I didn't notice... Does anyone know what it said in Detroit?
