  1. Now, he's not technically doing both together, but he throws short little bass fills in between the synth lead lines before the fadeout jam during The Enemy Within. It's probably the closest he gets to actually playing both instruments simultaneously.
  2. Unless there's proof of Geddy sporting a red dress and a fox head, The Musical Box wins!
  3. This technically would've been the ATWAS Tour where Geddy got his new toys. On the AFTK live version that was just released, he plays them all throughout the ending of the song with the tempo kicked up a tad. He's a beast!
  4. Became a fan in 96. Got it in 97. Listened once and tossed it aside for like 8 months. Then, grew to appreciate it. Now, it's probably a middle of the pack album, but one of my favorites to listen to all the way through.
  5. Unless there's a great live show or even a concert video(!!!!), they shouldn't even bother with Hemispheres.
  6. Jeez, those are some serious foot pedal chops near the end of this song!
  7. We got to hear truncated versions of Anthem and Lakeside Park on the R40 Tour to commemorate those albums. Woohooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. torn apAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRT is his highest at a Bb5, sliding up to a B5 in some live versions As far as peak pitch, Temples of Syrinx is actually pretty tame.

  10. There's a low-quality audience recording that been out there for many years. Not the greatest, but at least the tape isn't sped up like the 40th anniversary version.
  11. I heard Far Cry at WM once earlier this year.
  12. That is Ged being very humble about his playing. Geddy's thoughts on touring in 2000 vs. 2015 have to be completely different. Now that his touring days were numbered in 2015, he got a new appreciation of it. But I'm sure he doesn't miss the strict lifestyle he had endure in preserving his awfully shot, terrible, horrible voice, as some would say.
  13. Yeah, now that I think of it, I think it was played on the Counterparts tour too! Duh! Thanks! Yeah, Alien Shore definitely. I was very surprised that was not played live. CP Tour they didn't play Between Sun and Moon. Nor Alien Shore. Nor Cut to the Chase. Yet they did play Nobody's Hero. Those other songs are far better. Far, far better.
  14. I feel the same way. The lyrics don't help. Someone on here pointed out that Wish starts off sounding almost exactly like Green Day's "Enemy" and it's a fair comparison. And sadly, I'd much rather listen to THAT song than the Rush one (oooh.....blasphamy!) Very generic comparison. An intro with down beats on the snare with guitar before the song kicks in. And yeah the Green Day song is better since the almighty WWE used it as the Smackdown theme song!
  15. There is a video of them doing this live on one of the live dvds cause they dedicated it to john entwhistle. On my update I eliminated it. Thanks! :) Would loved to have seen them dedicate it to John Entwistle. The first time I saw them do it was on the Counterparts tour in 1994: 8 years before we lost The Ox John Entwistle. They never played it until the Vapor Trails tour.

  17. And the time he ran down a Saints defender after a turnover before scoring on Monday Night football in his rookie year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztHfr5uBIqk
  18. It's tough to distinguish between YEAH, OH YEAH, and BABY.
  19. Subdivisions: any version of this (sans SnA Tour) is always Top 3 Turn the Page: can't stand the HYF version for some reason Mystic Rhythms: first heard this on Chronicles, so love it way more than the studio version

  21. Not happening, per RIAB ... UPDATE: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation sent a statement to Billboard after this story was published denying that Lee would perform at the ceremony. "Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson were only confirmed to do the induction speech for one of their favorite bands and not perform. They, like all the other Yes fans, look forward to honoring them and watching them perform at the induction ceremony on April 7 and the HBO broadcast on April 29."
  22. This was a crowd sing-along opportunity sorely missed...
