YYZumbi
This is a battle between two of my favorite guitar players. Alex Lifeson from Rush vs Brian May from Queen Who do you think is the best guitar player?
Segue Myles
I gotta go with Brian May. Not a Queen fan (most of their work gets on my nerves), but Brian May is an amazing guitarist nontheless, and of these two, I would have to pick him as the better player.

Union 5-3992
Alex Lifeson makes me feel much more than May does. Though May is the smarter of the two with his Ph.D

ReRushed
Both are incredibly creative musicians. It's hard for me to compare. Queen albums are diverse, eclectic and unfocused - four talented and different styled songwriters doing their own thing in the confines of being in Queen. Rush albums are much more focused and coherent. Three musicians sharing focused and united goals. Alex Lifeson seems more raw and emotional. Brian May seems more calculated to serve the song. I will say this about Brian May - I never heard a bad guitar solo from him. Every damn solo perfectly fits its song. Both are perfect for their respective bands. Why choose? Einstein is true metal, even his hair was long! Tesla just suck even in hair metal circles!

Your_Lion
Love 'em both. But May probably has more of an influence on my personal style of playing.Anyone who has listened to my stuff should know that I love my guitar harmonies.
pip65
Not sure who is technically the better player, but I'd rather listen to Alex Lifeson than Brian May.
