The band Rush is very good. I think we can all agree on that.

Their music video output, is a mixed bag to put it nicely. It turns out their music has just... aged better.

By the way, I'm not talking about concert videos. Just straight up music videos.

Are you a fan of the infamous green screen nightmare that is Time Stand Still? How about the dystopian drag-racing of Driven. Or maybe you are a fan of the nice swan floating on a pond from A Farewell to Kings?

If you need reminding, heres a link to them all in one place:

Also, which one do you think gets the award for most cringe-worthy?

Enjoy the cheese!

Gotta go for the body electric (is that the animated one?).

No, the animated one is a standalone short that featured the music of rush. The Body Electric video featured the same sets as The Enemy Within,

No, that's the one where a Fabio lookalike runs around a set that looks like it's from the movie Dune.

Though I do enjoy the video for The Big Money and Mystic Rhythms quite a bit, Subdivisions wins for me. I love it for its simplicity in camera work, and how the resolution really matches the time frame and music. Also I love the trope where a character from the story of a music video watches the band playing the current song on tv, which of course is present in the video.

The Superconductor video is the most embarrassing thing they've ever done.

And that includes recording Half the World. It sucks that much.

I literally CANNOT bring myself to watch past the bridge kicking in and the crowd swaying like hippies. Thing is, I can kinda see what they were going for.

This is the official Video

This is the short film. It was animated by the same Canadian company that made Heavy Metal (if your familiar with that film)

I like the video because its that cheesy, which is what the song is going for (and half of Rush fans don't seem to get)

Time Stand Still, definitely. Too many singers, too many people flying around the screen.

I know what they're going for. It's still embarrassing.

Oh man, just watching it for the first time. It starts with some guy deep throating a sword and somehow gets worse from there.

I've always liked the music video for Driven. I also like Time Stand Still because it's terribly corny (and because of
). It's hard to choose just one.

The Big Money.

Also, when Geddy does a brief bit of what looks like air drumming, I find myself doing the same thing! I don't know why..! :P

Time Stand Still then...

Love the corniness, and have watched it many times! So naff its a classic!

Also, I cannot find the link, but there is an hysterical spoof dub of it that is just CRAZY!

First of all...none of them are actually good. The Big Money I think is alright, but the best Rush video is Supercoductor :coffee:

Driven. When I hear that song, I imagine the video which is a good way to judge how effective the video is.

Rockin tune and the video is very Toolesque, so bonus points for that.
