  1. Is it weird to be on-the-fence about preordering this, especially since it's my favorite album of all time? I'm interested in the LP version but I already have Moving Pictures and Exit Stage Left on vinyl. The appeal would be purely to hear the new concert recording... do you all think there's a chance it will sound even better than Exit Stage Left? I wish there was a bootleg of this concert just to kind of scope it out.
  2. I've been wondering about this for years. Honest to god. It just seems bizarre to play as the last encore song on EVERY TOUR until 1991 and then NEVER AGAIN. Like did Geddy just realize one night on the Presto tour, "Holy shit, has this song actually always sucked and we didn't realize it?" And then after that, the encore was a medley of 2112, Finding My Way, La Villa, Anthem, Red Barchetta and Spirit of Radio, Which for the record, is roughly 1000x cooler.

  11. This is a pretty amazing thing - just 6 hours of bootleg recordings. Super rad.
  12. Signals: Live In Hartford 83' honestly, I'm just using this thread to keep track of my favs at this point lol
  13. Why is the Signals Tour so under-represented in both number of recored shows and quality? And yet there seem to be a ton of good Grace Under Pressure ones...
  14. I think this is the best Hemispheres one: Universe Divided
  15. I'm sure this has been done to death but I'm curious about everyone's favorite bootlegs. I found this one from the Counterparts tour that is absolutely amazing quality called A Night At The Spectrum: Please let me know which are your personal faves!
  16. Who do I have to send an angry letter to? On a related note, does anyone here even use Spotify? I realize it's kind of an older crowd. No offense lol.
  17. Now that R40 is out and we can listen to both performances clearly, who nailed Losing It better? My vote is for Johnny. His energy and improvisation are superb. It also helps that I saw him perform it in Los Angeles. What do you think?
  18. Wow, you guys. Why all the hate for How It Is? Along with Losing It, this song is the absolute highlight of the album and setlist for me. They didn't play it at either show I went to so hearing it for the first time in the car yesterday literally moved me to tears. I've always loved that song and going back for it was 100 percent a good call. It seems like the Vapor Trails hate will never end on this forum but I can tell you, as someone who came into Rush circa 2000, Vapor Trails is one of the best Rush albums period. As for Geddy's voice, it sound as good here as it does on the entire album. It's fine but not what it used to be. Is that surprising to anyone?
  19. The whole album has a sort of cold, breezy indifference that I actually really appreciate. It sounds somewhat effortless and less fussed-over than many other Rush albums and floats by nicely. Sonically, it's consistent and features icy synth tones layered throughout some of the most un-obtrusive Peart drumming in the entire Rush catalogue. With the slight exception of the oddly syncopated title track and Time and Motion, it all goes down nice and easy and features some nice melodic moments. Rush wisely peppered these songs in lightly to their 96' tour and let them serve as a nice counterbalance to more atmospheric classic work (The Trees, Natural Science) as seen on Different Stages. All of that being said, I still think it is the weakest Rush album. I'm just one of those people who love every song off every album.
  20. Cool cool, though maybe there was a deeper meaning. lol!
  21. Sorry if this has been covered but could anyone point me to an explanation of the odd subtitle for "Where's My Thing?" Thanks!
