H. P. L.
A lot of folks tried their teeth on War Pigs, from Bathory to (gasp!) Cat Power to the guy in the bedroom across your wall. There are many great takes on the song out there, and many dreadful versions as well. Why not share some? This is by far my favourite: although very minimalistic in the approach, it manages to convey the cold-heartedness, the alienated cruelty of "The Generals" and the madness of war. Another one that comes with Tony Iommi's seal of approval, nonetheless:

H. P. L.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2iD5bSZ6hkNice! The guitar is too much fuzzbox for my taste, but the singer has some chops! Maybe if he joined a better band (eh eh...).One of the things few understand is that to make War Pigs right you GOTTA make Luke's Wall right.
Rick N. Backer
As an aside, let me just say that I love the amount of Black Sabbath appreciation going on in MOTS right now.
apetersvt
Gov't Mule, live at the Roxy in Atlanta, 31 December 1998. Game over and good night! Mule certainly was the first thought that popped into my head. Youtube has this version. Jason Newsted on bass. Too bad Allen Woody had already left us. The Analog Cub
Faith No More is the best version. I enjoy it more than Sabbath's, really. The drums are f***ing killer.

custom55
I used to stare at this gatefold while listening to War Pigs, when Paranoid was released. I wanted Bill Ward's star shirt. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/custom55/teci24031gate_zpsche4ubxj.jpg
custom55
FMN has the best cover :finbar: but it's really tough to cover this. Oh, there's that Bill Ward star shirt again. http://youtu.be/jtnC28jAA9k Edited March 6, 2015 by custom55
greg2112
None of the covers ever did it for me. Only have use for the original issue.
J2112YYZ
Well, some have mentioned it but no one has posted it. Faith No More's cover of War Pigs: This might be the best cover of any song ever. They added their own vibe to it but still remained true to the original.
