RushBoingo
Animal Collective (Though To Be Fair, the critics rate them fairly adequately, they just deserve a way bigger recognition beyond hipsters, festival attenders, and music enthusiasts) They Might Be Giants (No Band Name has ever been better chosen when describing their recognition) Oingo Boingo Weird Al (He Deserves a lot more respect)

apetersvt
Love me some Gov't Mule. Very glad that they haven't gotten bigger than they have, so I can still get great seats for their shows at great prices. Warren Haynes is certainly one of the 'good guys' of rock and roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19eGQXItxA0 - if you wanna check them out.
EagleMoon
Roxy Music. Never hear em talked about outside of music fans. At least i don't. Mick Good point. I saw them open for Elton John back in 1974 or 1975 on his Caribou tour. Eddie Jobson hadn't been with the group for long. I remember how cool I thought it was that he played an electric violin.

Mr. Not
King's X, definitely.. They've been raising in popularity quite a bit (at least judging by facebook likes, though that's not an effective indicator it's all I got to work with since their latest album is from 2008) which I can only surmise is due to their drummer (Jerry Gaskill) having a heart attack (and thankfully surviving) and their bassist Dug Pinnick taking part in quite a lot of collaboration projects (namely KXM). As for Facebook, the sudden spike in likes could also be due to the evergrowing prevalence of facebook, so more older folks are forfeiting to it :D ... :( Edited January 3, 2015 by Mr. Not

Mr. Not
This thread was supposed to be about how awesome Bonham is.....but...Okay. Now you know the significance of a thread title. This thread would also have played out similarly if you titled it "Bonham is the most underrated rock band ever", fwiw.

That's what I always heard. you must be thinking of triumph or dream theater or something (although it's still quite a stretch with those groups). budgie had a few great albums under their belt before rush had even put out a record. burke shelley's voice gets compared to geddy a lot, but there's no chance burke knew who geddy was when he formed the group
