I saw a show on the Time machine Tour, but not the CA tour however...

I'm really not much of a concert person, but I feel obliged to see my favorite bands play at least once... It's a personal rule that has only failed me once! (with Yes)

Which set do you like better? I'm prefer Time Machine more, but I was very disappointed with not getting a single p/g song that tour.. And then next tour, bang, here's an over-saturation of p/g and PoW

CA Tour for me. It was an 80's rush fans dream. I enjoyed hearing the new tunes live as well. To bad the DVD was a botch job. So sad.

I voted for CA, mainly because of all the great CA songs in set two and because the show closed with Grand Finale.

But it's hard to vote against a show that had The Camera Eye, Witch Hunt, and Vital Signs. Plus BU2B.

Clockwork Angels! Not only did we get to hear most of a fantastic album live, we also heard it WITH A FREAKING STRING SECTION!

TM Tour was good, but CA blows it out of the water! (Well, except for hearing Red Barchetta, The Camera Eye, and Witch Hunt live.)

, apart from having to suffer through the last song in the set.

It's a close one but I went with Time Machine because it had a nice span of their career, and you can't argue with The Camera Eye, Marathon, and La Villa Strangiato, to name a few.

But the CA Tour was great because the new album is really good, the strings were a nice addition, and yes, they closed with The Grand Finale :haz: I picked Time Machine really because Clockwork Angels Tour was really "Clockwork Angels + most of Power Windows", even though I like Power Windows there just wasn't as much variety.

CA by far

Time machine had a rotten 1st set (with a few exceptions). Presto, Camera Eye, Vital Signs, Marathon, new songs were among the highlights of this show. It was somewhat derivative of the R30 show and they didn't break out nearly enough rarely played songs.

CA had a completely different feel than any of their other tours and the different drum solo breaks, tons of rare material, strong new material, and the amazing look of the stage and lighting really made this tour something special.

I'll just say this:

If I were to see even 20 Rush shows, I'd take LVS over Grand Finale each and every time.

I'd actually be happy if i never heard 2112/Grand Finale live again and i am not exaggerating. so over it at this point in my fandom, lol

Oh, how could I have forgotten about LVS on the TM tour?! That makes the choice more difficult. But I will still have to stick with CA.

Now, if we could remove Working Man, Tom Sawyer, The Big Money, Force Ten, and Where's My Thing from the CA playlist, and replace them with Red Barchetta, The Camera Eye, Witch Hunt, LVS, and the full version of 2112, well, I would have been a very happy camper indeed

Well I've seen the band 49 times now and as much as I loved to hear my number one RUSH song from TM for the first time ever CA was by far the best! That #1 song was The Camera Eye however on CA they played #2 RUSH song in Red Sector A with strings, hell just the RUSH with strings was just simply amazing. I needed that variety after the band as many times as I have so far. To me the lighting and sound was a technical masterpiece.

BTW I almost wet myself when I first heard/saw TCE on the TM tour it was too awesome.

Peace

I loved the CA tour because I loved the new album and the strings, and I'm a Rush fanatic who gets happy whenever a song is played live that is rarely played. But if we're talking setlists, this isn't even a contest. CA has among the worst setlists of any tour that Rush has done. It's all synth and CA with a few hits sprinkled in. It's great for the hardcore fan who likes synth/CA more than any other Rush music, but horrible for everyone else.
