  1. What You're Doing. The ATWAS performance :haz: ... do some neck stretches first :D Honorable mention: Something For Nothing Anthem 7COG
  2. I love Counterparts, but T4E not so much. T4E has a great opening 1-2 punch with Test For Echo and Driven, but after that too many songs sound too similar: Half the World/Color Of Right/Dog Years/Carve Away The Stone may as well be the same song with somebody switching the lyric sheets out. Limbo was an instrumental letdown after Cp's classic LTTA. On the plus side are Time and Motion, Resist, and yes I even like Virtuality. T4E would be a decent album for most bands, but in the :rush: discography, it is near the bottom.
  3. Yes. It wouldn't make my top 50 Rush tunes list, but I like it.
  4. Fixed :P Now if you really want to see a backlash, say something like, "Caress of Steel is 5 minutes of great, 5 minutes of good, and 30+ minutes of " Trust me, the effect on the CoS worshippers is Pavlovian... complete with frothing at the keyboard
  5. Loved each of them from the first listen. I dig all of Presto and CA (except for The Garden... speaking of unpopular opinions :D )
  6. Absolutely a HELL YES!! The biggest surprise was hearing them kill it on What You're Doing. Never, EVER thought I'd hear a non-Working Man song from the debut again.
  7. I'd have been happy to hear Driven or T4E, but I'm not sure what I'd take out of this killer setlist(s) to make room for one. It's the loser in the numbers game.
  8. :sigh: Wrong again, as the "I hate everything after MP" crowd usually is when thinking their opinion is the only one. I'll take R40 from row 16 thank you: 30+ minutes more music Video production Killer setlist. Beneath Between and Behind, Broon's Bane, In The End and In the Mood are all weaker songs to me than anything on R40. Plus getting Presentation and What You're Doing on R40 is the knockout punch. MP is an excellent set... but R40 is better :D-13:
  9. St. Paul his voice was great... except for not even trying on "Anthem". Can't believe I'm saying this, but they should have left Anthem out and played Lakeside Park/What You're Doing/Working Man at full length. That would have been (even more) killer.
  10. I've made no secrets of anything :madra: I'll happily :7up: with any of these songs: Superconductor Everything else on Presto anyone is silly enough to dislike :cheerleader: Red Lenses Body Electric High Water You Bet Your Life Neurotica The Speed Of Love Nobody's Hero The Larger Bowl Wish Them Well In the not exactly immortal words of Cinderella, "If you don't like it, I don't care" :D
  11. If they finished with the Garden, I'd have beaten the traffic by walking out 7 minutes early. Shame they ended their best album in 20+ years with their most boring song since Heresy. I have to say I loved the reverse chronology setlist, Working Man was the best way to end it. They just should have played the whole 7+ minutes of instead of barely 5.
  12. The way I look at it is that Neil could have retired for good back in 1998... before I'd had the chance to see them. So because they returned in 2002, I've been able to see 6 tours for a total of 11 shows. I just can't be sad yet with that show still ringing through my brain ... I never, EVER thought they'd play What You're Doing live again . When I broke down and peeked at the Lincoln setlist and saw that, I was practically praying for 2 days that it wouldn't get alternated out for St. Paul. And bringing back TMMB, OLV and NatSci (all last seen on S&A) was like Rush had read my post history . So maybe you can be happy that you were there to hear THIS: :7up: :haz:
  13. :nya nya: They probably figured that if they stayed in St. Louis too long the tour bus would get stolen :outtahere:
  14. Thank you! Just downloaded :D-13: This should trigger some nice memories of Tuesday night in the 16th row :7up: :haz: :7up: :rush: There's some video clips up on Youtube now too, but not the whole show in one shot.
  15. If you just joined (like I did), you start as a "Guest" and can't download yet. You have to email their mods a request for promotion (which I think I just did) which could take a couple days for a response. click on the linked word "moderators" here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/extras-contact.php
  16. Can someone answer me (without blowing the whole setlist :P ) please? Thanks
  17. Are any of these songs being played? Show Don't Tell Cut To The Chase Cinderella Man Lock And Key The Weapon Test For Echo How many total songs not including drum solos? Count a medley as 1. Please don't tell me anything more, I want some suspense. Just don't want to spend the whole show waiting in vain for one of the above 6 songs, so if they're not being played I can get over the disappointment now and be ready to :7up: May 12. Thanks in advance for any information
  18. I avoided spoilers for VT, R30 and S&A 2007 because I wasn't on this forum yet :P S&A '08, TM and CA I caved in pretty early. This time I've avoided all setlist spoilers, but I'll probably break Friday night just to see If a couple "bucket list" songs finally will be played. If not, then I get the disappointment out of the way before the show May 12 and be ready to :7up: with what they do play
  19. These are two separate single tix, price is Ticketmaster face value, fees, taxes) Section 103 row 3 $150 Section 116 row 13 $120 A link to Xcel center seats views: http://seatviewer.xcelenergycenter.com/#seats/map Reply or PM if interested.
  20. Show Don't Tell What You're Doing Cinderella Man Something For Nothing Anthem I reject your reality and substitute my own :D-13:
  21. With the risk of sounding like a broken record, HYF, oops... R41 in NYC prime seats are DOUBLE Who and DOUBLE U2 ticket prices... You're both half right. Face value for RUSH is no higher than other major acts, but if you're going the scalper route, they are gouging the hell out of fans this time around. And I want to clear up something I said earlier that apparently has been misunderstood. When I said that I love that Rush has not become a nostalgia act, I did not mean that playing any 70's songs is nostalgia. I would flip if they played Cinderella Man, What You're Doing, Anthem, Something for Nothing... downtune the hell out of them, I don't care :D-13: I meant that an entire concert of nothing but pre-PoW material (to reference the OP for an example) would be a nostalgia show because it excluded half of their albums.
  22. Not to make any rash judgements but ARE YOU NUTS?!? OK so I've seen them "only" 10 times and apparently aren't as jaded as you. But at the risk of outing myself as a total loser jobwise, I make a whopping $9 an hour, and between the ticket, hotel, and bus fare (yes I said bus, 200 miles each way), I'll be spending about $400 on this trip. And never even thought about missing it because there may never be another one. Which was my first thought when the tour was announced, "this might be it... I have to get there". If the resale prices are stunning you, see what's left at face through ticketmaster. If it's just that you're being elitist about what seats you'll accept, you should have been online when the tickets went onsale instead of moaning now. As for newer material, I guess we have opposite perspective. I LOVE it that :rush: didn't become just a nostalgia band and kept playing new material every time out. I will say that 9 songs from 1 album, even a great one IMHO like CA, is a bit overboard. Which would indicate that this is the tour you MUST see. No new album=fewer songs from CA=more room for old tunes. And since they played 4 from PoW each night you likely will have less from that to deal with too. If they play 5 from CA and 2 from PoW, that's 6 more slots open this tour for other albums. Think about it.
  23. Actually not a bad song, but it's been done over and over and over and ends with those really annoying synth-drum hits... Force Ten. Give me Mission again, or Lock and Key, Prime Mover, Turn the Page or High Water from HYF, or ANYTHING from Presto but enough of Force 10!
  24. I love listening to it, but the one word that comes to my mind is what Geddy felt like after doing it.. "Ouch!" :P "Looking for... an open door..."
  25. Caress Of Steel never did... Bastille Day great, Lakeside Park good, then Of the rest, I'd say HYF took the longest. High Water in particular I went from to  for
