All day -- when I wasn't playing music, that is -- I had Genesis' "Fountain of Salmacis" stuck in my head. But it kept morphing into Deep Purple! There's an ascending keyboard line, I think, in "Salmacis" that resembles one in Purple's "Speed King." The thing is, I last heard that song two days ago, and that was the first time I had heard it in probably 25 years. Why did it pick the instant I woke up to pop back in my head? This sort of thing happens to me way too frequently with GnR's "Sweet Child of Mine." o_O I avoid that song like the plague, but got-d*mn do I wake up with that crappy tune way too often. It makes me want to commit a bit of the ol' ultraviolence upon my own skull. (Now cranking up Deep Purple's "In Rock" to ensure it doesn't get stuck now.)
