  1. Their donation to the Gord Downie Foundation in November 2016 make so much more sense now... http://www.rush.com/...ft6a4HcGx7NS4Jc
  2. Pretty sure it was from the time they were racing the "Lemon Slug". http://www.neilpeart...and-lemon-slug/ edit.... double checked & yup, same engine.
  3. I have been hash tagging Anthem every time I see one. " Vultures... #AnthemEntertainment"
  4. No One At The Bridge.... goosebumps.
  5. The DVDA of Porcupine Tree's "Stupid Dream" is the best sounding shiny disc I've heard. Not their best album, just incredible clarity, frequency range & response.
  6. LOL.... Or Here Again... Not a ballad but I do remember trying to get away with this one at few school dances. ;-) Take Care
  7. I don't believe Making Memories was played at the COS show I saw but definitely played at the Rush / Fly By Night headliner they did previous. In fact ALL of FBN was played except for Rivendell.
  8. Not true.... I was at Massey Hall when they headlined on the COS tour and they most definitely played PARTS of The Fountain in a weird kind of medley with The Necromancer. The parts they played were even in a different order than the album version but it WAS played. Take Care This is a great reveal. That bogus set list from this show shouldn't have fooled anyone but an eye witness account finally! Thanks for sharing LOL... No problem! This topic seems to come up a couple times a year and I usually respond with the same answer. I can't really comment on the rest of the set list as it WAS 40 years ago and I was only 15 years old at the time but definitely remember them playing the "new" stuff... I saw Steven Wilson at Massey Hall last week and it was very cool to look around the room and pick out the exact seats I had all those years ago for the Rush / Fly By Night show, the COS show and the two nights of 2112 / ATWAS recording. I just love that place and hope like hell they decide to do an extended set of shows there.
  9. I was at the Massey Hall show in question and while true, The Fountain was not played IN IT'S ENTIRETY, parts of it were played in a different order than the album version. They headlined this show (with Joe Mendelson's Mainline opening) so there WAS time to fit it in. This is the first setlist I've seen that correctly states that Bastille Day was the opener that evening (and continued to be the opener for the next few tours as well). Take Care

  11. Make sure your PS-3 has the latest firmware update installed....
  12. I know I received the Red covered (Moon) record for my birthday in February of 1974. It was my second copy! The first one I was lucky enough to get didn't even HAVE a cover, just a paper sleeve. Take Care
  13. Different Strings.... ya gotta turn it up loud!
  14. Saw "Royal Blood" open for the Foo Fighters, bought their CD, Very interesting...
  15. My first copy of the first album was the red label moon records version. I was 14 years old and it was my prized possession. It was quickly worn out by some very crappy turntables back in those days and unceremoniously replaced by the "new" pink labelled version. I have owned at least 4 vinyl an 8 track a couple of cassettes and 2 CD's. (and of course the deluxe re-issue)
  16. When I first heard this in 1976 I was completely blown away by the HEAVY production (made even a cheap ol' stereo sound good). I have tried every J.P release since and this remains the pinnacle of their output. (IMHO). Take Care
  17. I don't know of they ever played the whole thing, but I've heard that parts have been performed Yes, this is true. It was done in a weird kind of medley with the heavy parts of The Necromancer thrown in. Take Care Do you have a source for this, because I've searched a few times and nothing I've seen indicates that the song had ever been played live. The only source I have is that I was there. It wasn't played in it's entirety so I don't know if that counts or not. I don't think I've ever seen a setlist that showed that they opened with Bastille Day for that show either. But, they did and continued to open with it for the next (probably) 3 tours I saw after that. Take Care What was the date of that show? I'm getting very jealous. I'm thinking January 1976. About a month before my 16th birthday :codger:.It was about my 4th time seeing them though. Second at Massey hall. Take Care January 10th. Man, I wish I had a recording of that show. Now I'm moving from jealousy to anger: Why didn't you record it!!! How accurate do you think this setlist is? http://www.setlist.f...a-43d39797.html I didn't record it because a tape recorder at the time was as big as a PS-3 or an X-Box is now and expensive. Tickets usually said "No Cameras No Recorders" and they would confiscate said items. That setlist isn't even close... They headlined that show so the set was longer by far and as I said, they definitely opened with Bastille Day. Joe Mendelson"s Mainline was the opening band. That was a weird choice. Take Care I know that you said Bastille Day, but does this setlist look any closer? Fly By Night Beneath, Between, Behind Bastille Day I Think I'm Going Bald By-Tor & The Snow Dog In The End Making Memories Anthem The Fountain of Lamneth Lakeside Park The Necromancer Best I Can In The Mood Working Man Finding My Way Drum Solo What You're Doing Yes, much closer to what I remember. Take Care

    ATWAS

You wouldn't happen to recall what the set for that "Down The Tubes" show, would you? I've been asked that here before... Not the entire set. Definitely opened with Bastille Day, and yes, parts of The Fountain were played in a weird sort of medley with parts of The Necromancer thrown in. Touched all the high points for sure. I didn't understand the hate for COS, when it came out I was 15 and thought it was pretty cool. Sure it was different but It just fit right in with everything else that was going on at the time. Fortunate, yes. Old too! I was very lucky that my Mom was a huge music fan and helped finance my concert going back in those days. I saw all the Massey Hall shows, all the Maple Leaf Gardens New Years Eve shows (which were epic!) and all the CNE Grandstand shows (which were huge!). Take Care

    ATWAS

I was there for 2 of the 3 nights they recorded ATWAS at Massey Hall. What I remember most is that it was freakin' hot in there! No A/C in a hundred year old building. Also, the recording sounds exactly the way it sounded live. You can really hear the room on those tapes. When ever I go back there (recently for Joe Bonamassa & Dream Theater shows) I always look up to the first balcony, stage right where my seat for that show was all those hundreds of years ago. And for the record, the "Down The Tubes" COS concert I saw there was probably the best Rush show I ever attended. It was cooler and the crowd was just nuts. I felt sorry for Joe Mendelson who opened as he was soundly boo'ed to get the hell of the stage so the real show could start. Take Care
