BUB
With Counterparts, Rush became a real rockband again, and the last 5 albums are connected that way. I know some of you may disagree and say Presto was the album that brougth the guys back, but i disagree. So Counterparts it is. But witch album do you prefere? * Sorry by any mispelling, but it`s 03:15 at night, so i`m sleeepy :P

USB Connector
CA, by 12 orders of magnitude. That's only because CP was a solid album. Remove it and that number triples.

goose
Vapor Trails (I love it), Counterparts (Great sounding effort, and some overall strong songwriting), Snakes & Arrows (another good sounding album with amazing musical moments...themes get tiresome), Clockwork Angels (Some great playing, but not great sounding...don't really care for the story), Test for Echo (only two songs I care to listen to)

EagleMoon
I would put Clockwork Angels and Snakes and Arrows as the top two but in no particular order. Since Vapor Trails has been re-mixed its actually on the radar now, which it never was before. I would probably put it even with Counterparts now. Which leaves Test For Echo at the bottom but I do like a lot of the album.

RushBoingo
My order, Clockwork Angels, Test for Echo, Counterparts, and the other two alternate depending on my mood.
drbirdsong
Clockwork Angels and Vapor Trails wrestle for the top spot. The rest fall into my favorite catalog of albums by my favorite band. On any given day I'm happy to hear anything by Their Rushness.
Pause Rewind Replay
This is a tough one.. it comes down to one album with many dizzying peaks overcoming one big clank to edge out another that for me has no bad songs on it. Drumroll.... 1. Clockwork Angels (Caravan, BU2B, CA, Anarchist, 7COG etc. survive The Garden  ) 2. Counterparts (Like to love all of it. Yes, even Speed of Love ) 3. Vapor Trails (OLV, Earthshine, Ceiling Unlimited, Nocturne .. :7up: Still overall in my top 8 :rush: albums. 4. S&A (From new classic (Far Cry, Workin' Them Angels, TMMB) to splat (Spindrift) A couple slots below VT. 5. T4E (A tremendous 1-2 opening punch followed by 9 tracks of mostly listenable background noise)

I think every Rush album from Hold Your Fire on is excessive in length! I don't think the guys realize that just because you CAN put more music on a CD doesn't mean you SHOULD. although I don't think CA is too long at all.
lifeson90
As an album in entirety id go for s&a, can listen to it from start to finish without any drops in quality but, if i had to name certain tracks that represented the band's best stuff, there'd be a selection from all of em in this order- VT, CA, S&A, CP & T4E

losingit2k
This isn't even fair with Clockwork Angels in there. Its like comparing Moving Pictures to Presto. Anyway my list: 1. Clockwork Angels2. Counterparts3. Snake and Arrows4. Vapor Trails (Remixed)5. Test For Echo It wouldn't be hard to make a setlist just out of those albums now that Clockwork Angels and VT (Remixed) are in the mix: Set 1: Far CryCaravan (Album Version)BU2B (Album Version) (Never Played Live)Cut to the Chase (Never Played Live)Sweet Miracle (Never Played Live) Ceiling Unlimited (Solo Version) (Never Played Live)Main Monkey BusinessTest For EchoArmor and SwordClockwork Angels Set 2: The AnarchistCarniesWay the Wind BlowsVapor Trails (Never Played Live)Alien Shore (Never Played Live)The WreckersCold FireThe GardenMal-Nar/ Drum SoloHope/ Halo EffectEarthShineSeven Cities of GoldOne Little Victory (Solo Version) (Never Played Live) Encore:Stick it OutDriven (With Bass Solo)Headlong Flight But why wait listen to Hope/ Halo Effect now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8tHsSgHo70 Edited November 15, 2013 by losingit2k
