Absolutely love this tune. Like other songs on Presto, the crappy sound of the album hurts, but still a GREAT song. Just wish it had some balls

THIS

Hopefully they dig this song back in the set on this tour. Based on how Presto sounded on the last tour, I think War Paint would work really well live.

Pro shot video of War Paint.

Wow...I remember that tour. They look so young. I remember Alex's modified mullet and Geddy's pony tail. I was never a big fan of his Steven Segal look. What a great tour, though. Thanks for posting this.

I like War Paint. The corny ending is the best part--it's so catchy.

Hand over Fist is another nice Presto song that doesn't seem to get much love.

I'm not all that interested in hearing these tunes live, though. The Pass is always my first choice off Presto, but as for a dark horse, Available Light is one I'd love to see them perform.

Damn Alex cut your hair! And Ged looks like he belongs in a 60s marijuana legalization campaign. Neil's got a cute smile thing going on at 0:22. Looks like he's trying not to laugh biggrin.gif

I suddenly really like this song again

Thanks all for the feedback....

I knew I was not the only one who loves this tune....

Corney...a bit cheesy...not heavy rock...but still....

...a very catchy song.

I would be happy to hear War Paint live.....but would choose Chain Lighting, The Pass and especially Superconductor for a song to played off Presto.

No problem...came across that video a month or so ago, happy to post it since I grew up with late 80's early 90's Rush. Big fan of the Presto album and War Paint.

Yup, love this song along with most of the Presto album (Superconductor usually gets the skip treatment.)

It's kind of a little, minor thing, but I love the keyboard ostinato that plays on the verses. That kind of textural sonic element (another song that immediately comes to mind as having a similar element is Heresy, again on the verses) is on a list of Rushisms I wish the band would employ more often.

I have always loved this song...

Not sure why....I admit it's a little cheesy....

I just like the word play with the vanity and mirror thing.

I think it's one of Neil's greatest lyrical achievements. There're so many interpretations.

I can't believe that was 22 years ago. I say them this month on that tour in Albany. 22 years...gaaah!
