    Disco Rush

Where's My Thing has a disco beat.
  2. Enough that I post on a forum dedicated to them I suppose.
  3. I enjoy his Test For Echo vocals best. He seemed to find that happy medium where it's still Geddy's unmistakable voice, but at a more midrange, contemporary level with that 90s rock feel. Hard to describe but just listen to the ending of "The Color of Right." That final "change the color of ri-iii-ight" is one of my favorite Geddy Lee moments.
  4. I went to the show in Philadelphia and thought they were kind of cheesy as-is tbh.
  5. I wish the lyrics were "The pools of poison, the scarlet mist / that spill over into rage" in one chorus and then "billowing into rage in another." That way he could play off both the spilling pools and billowing mist while keeping the rhyme scheme intact. Shame it's just "spill over" both times.
  6. Yes...he does not play with that kind of fineness anymore.

    Rush Concert Day,

QUOTE (OGr8imL84AD8inF8sBlackSedan @ Oct 18 2012, 07:03 PM) Show up at the show. Yep.
  8. Whoa, that is sweet. I was at the show as well, and I've gotta say this was the best I have seen Neil play...his drum rolls and fills were just so clean and perfectly executed. This is not just standard post-show talk either...
  9. I also like how he's back to his concert outfit of dark jeans, dress shoes, and a blazer. I wasn't a fan of the overly casual look.
  10. alex is the best guitarist ever. here is a guy who understands that as good as he may be, it's not all about him. he strikes the perfect balance every time.
  11. That's because guitar, bass, drums, and keys are so much cooler.
  12. to quote Geddy Lee's Snakes & Arrows tour shirt, blah blah blah. This is the same generic regurgitated garbage I've heard countless times before about Rush. The best response is to live well and continue loving to do what you do, and the band has certainly done that. They are above the fray...

    Last rush album

QUOTE (av450 @ Oct 4 2012, 05:45 PM) If it is, I don't see a more fitting song than the garden to end their career. Ouch...just remembered this aspect. Not having them go out on a rocking note would be a tough pill to swallow for me.

    Last rush album

The creativity and physical energy tank is almost empty at this point, but I think they've got just enough left in there for one more.

  16. Signals. To me, that album speaks to the advent of technology and its place within the broader context of human communication and relations, from our days as bright-eyed analog kids to cynical digital men. So it's a double meaning, because not only do devices give off "signals," but so do people every day with their words, body language, and actions. Signals also gets my vote for coolest album cover. Love the random dalmation and hydrant.
  17. I haven't heard the things you mentioned but I'll listen for them...either way, 7COG is my go-to song on this album. A brilliant track...
  18. I love the way it sounds as is. Gritty and rough side to Rush, hell ya.

    My Problem

Well you're in luck because the violin basically has zero cool factor anyway.
  20. Sure why not? If they're cool, cool. If not, oh well, I still dig their tunes.
