If anyone disagrees about Bon-era AC/DC, please give the album POWERAGE a spin. Without a doubt the BEST AC/DC album there is IMO, and even current frontman Brian Johnson thinks so (he admitted so on That Metal Show a few months back).

I loved them when I was ten and found other bands shortly after. I hate Brian Johnson era tho. No love for Back In Black from this guy. sorry schla03.gif

Everything from AC/DC, up to Back In Black, rocks! 1022.gif

Everything after that is hit or miss at best.

Sin City and Whole Lot Of Rosie are two of my all time favorite songs. common001.gif

People do bitch about AC/DC being too simple, too repetitive but I don't see it, they came up with great songs, great riffs in those peak years in the 70s and early 80s.

Try being a Quo fan! I've had the "repetitve 3-chord shite" thrown at me for years.

Boogie RULES!

Prefer the Brian Johnson stuff. That's when they hit their stride IMO. Back In Black trumps every AC/DC record ever made. It just does. Even though we may be burnt out on it like Moving Pictures it is AC/DC's Moving Pictures. Edited by presto123

For Those About to Rock is the last great AC/DC album. Actually enjoy it more now than BIB.

I like both eras of the band, but have a soft spot for the 80's AC/DC: Back in Black, For Those About to Rock, Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall are their most creative period in my opinion, and "For Those" is as complex as they'll ever get in terms of arrangements and composition. Selected tracks form that era that still have a heavy rotation in my mp3 player:

Shake a Leg

Back in Black

Shoot to Thrill

Given the Dog a Bone

Night of the Long Knives

C.O.D.

Inject the Venom

I Put the Finger On You

Evil Walks

Rising Power

This House is On Fire

Guns for Hire

Badlands

Fly on the Wall

Sink the Pink

First Blood

And just to try and stick to the original idea of the topic, here are some of my faves from the Bon days:

Big Balls

Problem Child

It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)"

Go Down

Kicked in the Teeth

Touch Too Much (how did this one NOT become a hit??!?!?!?)

High Voltage

Girls Got Rhythm

Gone Shootin'

Overdose

FTATR has great tone to it. Some very interesting guitar work as well. I listen to it more than BinB as well.

Highway to Hell, Back in Black and For Those... compares very well to the three-album run of PeWaves, MovPics and Signals. An amazing run of great music.

Overdose

Great choice! I haven't listened to that track in ages, but I love it. That one, Dog Eat Dog and Go Down make Let There Be Rock one hell of an album...which ain't a bad thing to be.

Listening to Overdose right now. I have Let There Be Rock on vinyl, and being without a stylus, I haven't listened in a long time. Great album, very bluesy, with a much dirtier production than the prior releases.

And "Crabsody"... laugh.gif
