He said that they had gotten too much in the middle of what they did. That sums it up. Force Ten, Time Stand Still, Lock and Key, Turn The Page, and Mission were instant faves but my all time favorite song from the album is arguably Prime Mover. Really an underrated track from Hold Your Fire and IMO needs to make an appearance on the upcoming tour. The rest of the songs range from good to alright but for me personally, Tai Shan and High Water are the weakest tracks out of the rest of the album. Another great quote from Geddy describes the idea that just because you can fill every space with a sample doesn't mean you should. HYF proves that. Open Secrets and Prime Mover are two of my favorite songs, lyrically. Tai Shan is bleh, but I like High Water. It's one of my favorite songs to air drum/sing to in the car. "when something left the ocean, to crawl high above the foam... I really enjoy most of HYF. It falls under the general category of "Rush albums you can play in the car while driving with people that would complain if you put on most other Rush albums". Therefore, HYF fills an important sonic niche, because without HYF the other occupants in the car might force you to listen to something truly tedious, like Adele.
