I went with the All Epics Tour! I would really like to see that! the Set list would look like this!

Set 1:
The Camera Eye (Entire)
Jacobs Ladder
Clockwork Angels
Here Again
By - Tor & the Snowdog
The Necromancer
2112 (Entire)

Set 2:

Natural Science
Working Man
Fountain of Lamneth
MalNar/ Drum Solo
Alex's Solo/ Cygnus X-1
Hemispheres (Entire)
Xanadu (Entire)

Encore:
La Villa Strangiatto
Tom Sawyer
The Spirit of Radio

Nice Tour! trink39.gif

Really can't get much better than that (I would substitute TS and TSoR with something else, but I understand those songs are staples). Well done. trink39.gif

Epics all the way for me.

They say that an all ep;ics tour would destroy geddy's voice! I don't think so! The Only song that would be hard to sing would be Hemispheres and they could just tone down for that! just about everything else has been performed durimg the last four tours! ( The camera Eye, Natural Science, 2112 Entire, working Man, By Tor & The Snow Dog, Xanadu, Cygnus X1, and La Villa Strangiatto have all been performed live since the Test for Echos Tour! The Only songs that need rehashing would be The Fountain of Lamneth, Hemispheres, Here again, The Necromancer and Jacobs Ladder. Clockwork Angels I'm sure will be fine! LOL

2014 would mean 30 years of GUP. So - the second set should be the mighty mighty GUP in its entirety and a number of 80s gems, partly from deep in the vaults (Open Secrets, Red Tide and Losing It being my personal No. 1 choices).
For the first half - The first LP will be 40 then. Though I'm not sure I would want to here that in its entirety. Here Again and Before And After would be slick, though.
And there's still time left to play the obvious standards.
Won't happen?
Right, I'll go with the CA tour and hope they come to Germany again.

I'd like to see this too. A real b-sides tour. We may not get the most requested songs or an all epics tour. But a short b-sides tour recorded and released as an album would be nice. 3-4 night stand somewhere in the country with all the little perks of home to make it worth their while.

Maybe they'll just play the obscure songs that they like, at the moment. Realistcally thats all they'll ever play since their so adamant and opionionated about the past material. Second Nature, maybe, add in Different Strings, Vapor Trail, How It Is, etc.

A Mostly Instrumental tour would look like this:

Set 1:

Instrumedley:

(Finding My Way/ By Tor & The Snow Dog/ The Necromancer/ Something for Nothing/ Cygnux X1/ Hemispheres (Prelude)/Freewill)

Limelight

Caravan

Where's My Thing?

Leave that thing Alone!

Limbo

Main Monkey Business

Show Don't Tell

Driven (With Bass Solo)

Jacobs Ladder

Hope/ Closer to the Heart (Extended)

Set 2:

2nd Instrumedley:

(Working Man/ Anthem/ No One at The Bridge/ A Passage to Bangkok/ A Farwell to Kings/ Circumstances)

The Spirit of Radio

Tom Sawyer

New Instrumental

New Instrumental 2

CA Instrumental

Mal Nar/ Drum Solo (with Didacts and Narpets)

Broon's Bane/ The Trees

Xanadu (Entire)

2112/ Temples/ Finale

Encore:

Far Cry

La Villa Strangiatto

YYZ

At least it would save Geddy's Voice for another tour !

I dont think theyll ever do an all epics tour. Theyre making way too much money doing the standard new song/old song setlist theyre doing now.

IF they do a tour after this one I think it will definitely be a Farewell tour.

I think they will do an R40 tour in 2014 which may well turn out to be their last. They have said on numerous occasions that they will not do a FAREWELL TOUR.

Whats with all the speculation about them ending it so soon? You guys sound like you WANT them to go away! Ive read a recent quote from Neil that he hasnt hit the wall yet and he'll play until he's physically unable to, and Ged said about the same thing. Frankly, as long as theyre playing well and making new music that doesnt suck, I say let them play until they can barely stand up at the mic, and even THEN thats what wheelchairs are for!!! 1022.gif

I'm not even sure there will be a tour after CA. Have they hinted this might be the last studio record?

These guys are old. The band could end at any time. There's no point at all even discussing future tours beyond what's coming up. No way to know if they will even be around anymore.

After Geddy's vocal trouble on the last tour, I am a bit worried.

He needs to take better care of his voice. Touring more is not a good option.

That's a fair point even though some folks will probably see it as a negative comment (I don't). It might serve his voice better if they did a few less concert dates and have a longer break in between two legs of a tour.

No, damn it. For Rush fans you guys certainly MISS a lot of information.

THEY ARE SIGNED TO A TWO RECORD DEAL WITH ROADRUNNER TWO. NOT ONE.

Gah, sorry, but i'm tired of hearing "It's definitely the last one."

Look at the press release. or somewhere, I know I saw it somewhere around that time!

Anyway!! I chose all epics, but I'd really take TFOL and Hemispheres out (the two best. lol.) because RIP GEDDY'S VOICE.

Just because they signed a two record deal, that could easily mean one studio album (Clowckwork Angels) and one of their now customary live albums from the tour for the album. That would give them two album and fullfill the contract, unless the deal is for two studio albums. No idea what the terms are.

No. I would opt for the "few less concert dates and have a longer break in between two legs of a tour to help preserve Geddy's voice" tour. wink.gif

I think you're right on with the studio then live album pair!
