Over the last week I've been rewatching the movies that preceded the Avengers. Thor is still pretty good. Iron Man 2 is great until the last action scene. Captain America still seems a little forced but good. Iron Man 1 is still amazing. Tonight: Hulk. This weekend, I will find a theatre that still shows the Avengers so I can see it again. tongue.gif

You mean "Incredible Hulk" from 2008. There's a big difference between that one and the piece of shit 2003 "Hulk" that Ang Lee made.

The Avengers STILL isn't showing yet out here. It comes out next week. I believe it's the only non-3rd world country that hasn't played it yet.

I think they hate Thor over there or something don't they? Or maybe Iron Man... Or maybe it's the Hulk... huh.gif unsure.gif Or maybe Nick Fury... cool10.gif

My only guess as to why many movies are shown VERY late here is that cinemas (or whoever is in charge) are unsure of how popular some films will be in this country. Once The Avengers became a huge success in other parts of the world THEN all the posters, ads, etc. started to come out HERE. Dark Knight Rises came out a few days or just a week later and The Amazing Spider-Man came out a few days earlier than the rest of the planet. Here, those two characters are well-known and will automatically have people going to see it. That's just not the case with the Avengers. Naturally, due to their worldwide familiarity, films like Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean always come out at exactly the same time as in western countries.

The two good things about all Japanese movie theaters: reserved seating & BEER. trink38.gif

The first one was pretty good, enjoyable, despite many flaws. The Ghost Rider character shines through.

The second one is pure shite, crap story, bad effects, terrible photography, abysmal acting from Cage who has totally lost any acting ability he ever had, his "crazy" outbursts in this are embarrassing. This film makes the first one look like a masterpiece. Anyone who comes across the Ghost Rider character for the first time through this film would probably think it's from some bottom feeding douche comic that folded long ago. A shambles.

I can't bring myself to watch that 2nd one after I thought the 1st one was shit on toast. Cage is an awful choice for Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider. I would've gone with the dude that played Jesus in Gibson's The Passion of Christ. He was also the terrorist in Deja Vu. Shit, get someone good! Cage is a lampoon these days!

Casino

Not the usual edited version I was hoping for since it stopped airing on Cinemax and Encore lately. All the curse words were muted. I missed such hilarious edits as "Freak you, Sam Rothstein!" and "You Jew money lover, you!". laugh.gif rofl3.gif

Still nice to see another Scorsese and mafia movie classic back on a channel I have.

I enjoyed the first one in spite of Cage. Cage seemed to play Johnny as Elvis doing Evil Kenevil and there was no chemistry at all between Cage and Eva Mendes, the supposed tragic lost lovers. Peter Fonda was pretty good as the devil (it should be Mephisto) and Blackheart was portrayed reasonably and at least the Ghost Rider effects looked pretty good.

Hey and JB, if you hated the first one don't even think about bothering with the second one, it's absolutely shit. It'll make you mad enough to throw something at the screen. Cage is worse than ever! The effects stink, it's like a cheap straight to DVD B movie, except that makes it sound too good. The story is pathetic, it's directed like a blind man did it. I hope they don't do any more sequels after seeing that. If ever a franchise needed an immediate reboot this is it.

This was the film where Richard Burton taught Clint the word "punk".

That was spot on about the Cage/Elvis/Evil Knievel bit. laugh.gif

Mendes-the only good thing about her in GR was her cleavage

Fonda-it's hard for him to NOT look cool anyway

The Blackheart kid-yeah, he's decent

the special effects-not total shit at least but it was definitely approaching the video game realm

GR2 will never make it to theaters here and I won't rent it when it's available.

Looking back on bad superhero films, even the Dolph Lundgren Punisher film was better than GR imho.
