  1. I saw it. Good movie. Go see it when it comes out. Denzel did a great job and should get an Oscar nod for it and should get nominated for Best Picture too, but won't win that one.
  2. Flight. Denzel Washington nailed it. Should be getting on Oscar nod for this one.
  3. I pray to god you're right about this. I've only seen them once and they blew me away. I need to see them again. In recent articles since S&A they've said they're excited about producing new music...which typically means more tours.
  4. Completely agree with the CA comments, but this was not their best set list....not by a mile.
  5. ^^^ I didn't notice anything but then again I'm not a musician...I just like listening to music. So what you speak of is way over my head. I do have a friend of mine however, who was at the show and is a musician and he may be able to offer up his POV. I will be curious to hear his reply when I ask him.

    Last rush album

I think they have a few more albums left in them. They've stated in multiple interviews they are excited about exploring their creative urge. The same topic came about with S&A.
  7. That's because no one is familar with Middletown. Plus I think you average casual fan as you say is not privy to what the set list is going to be anyway. So they were probably disappointed with the first set to begin with.
  8. I completely agree especially in regards to CA. It was the highlight of the show for me.
  9. Chasing Mavericks. Good movie and great story. It was pretty sad too.
  10. No, but it did sound really well and it was cool to see Alex play the keys.
  11. I think this won't be your last show unless you decide to not go, as they will continue to tour. I think they have at least one or two more left in them.
  12. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but wanted to offer up my observations on the set list for this tour and the songs they decided to swap at the Atlanta show. Set 1: It was great they opened the show with Subdivisions. It's a powerful opener with the synths. It worked well that they continued with that era in The Big Money then moving it up to Force Ten but found it odd they started the set with 3 album openers. I was super stoked to hear Grand Designs. At this point you could tell the crowd was lost until they played Limelight. That brought the energy back, but it was short lived as they returned to the synth era with Territories. At this point they should have plugged in another song or two pre-1982, then flow into Analog Kid. To go from synth to Limelight back to synth did not flow well at all. The Pass has no business being played live especially in the first set. It's a downer. But if you have to, then it should be played in the second set. I thought it was a huge mistake to close out the first set with Far Cry. Again it didn't go with the "feel" or the flow of the preceding songs. Having been a Rush fan for 31 years I was very excited about hearing all the synth era songs though I thought that with the exception of Grand Designs and Analog Kid, the first set was somewhat of a snoozer. I also was disappointed they swapped Middletown or TBE for Limelight. Set 2: The Clockwork Angels set is the highlight of the entire show. Normally I never agreed with them playing so many songs from a new album, but in this case it was well deserved. Needless to say, CA as an album will go down as one of their better albums, and after hearing it live, this statement confirms it. The string section was a great idea, although they looked funny standing behind Neil as opposed to having their own section. All the songs of the CA set were amazing and what is even more surprising is that this set initiated a positive crowd reaction. Normally the album debut tunes the audience out, but not in this case. It went south after that with Dreamline, not because they chose to replace Manhattan Project, but because at this point the last thing you wanted to hear was another album opener. Red Sector A sounded great and although it was never one of my preferred songs, I thought it came across nicely and found a new love for the song. The remainder of the set and the Encore were classics that you can never go wrong with. All in all I enjoyed the show tremendously and as usual I'm still amazed Rush still produces music that is progressive and still have the energy to showcase their material live. With the catalog of their work, it's impossible to please everyone and at this point, if they continue to tour, I'm certain they will only choose songs they feel comfortable playing and songs they rarely play live or never have played live altogether. With that said, here is a sample of how I think the set list should have been constructed using the same songs. Subdivisions Force Ten Grand Designs The Body Electric Analog Kid The Big Money Bravado YYZ w/ Drum Solo Limelight Red Sector A -Intermission- CA Material Middletown Dreams Where's My Thing w/ Drum Solo The Pass Tom Sawyer TSOR Encore Far Cry 2112 I, II, VII
  13. I was really let down not getting to hear Middletown Dreams...hell not even Manhattan Project. And to replace it with Dreamline? I've heard that live a number of times. Regardless, to me the highlight of the show is the Clockwork Angels set. It really was engaging and sounded amazing live. For being a new album and new songs, etc., the crowd was really into it.
  14. I didn't get a chance to really hear it, that's when I took a piss break.
  15. Wrong. All they dropped was Middletown Dreams. Manhattan Project is Set A, not B. TSOR has been in the setlist since at least Chicago. You're wrong. They didn't play Manhattan Project last night. They replaced it with Dreamline. Your right about TSOR though. I meant Dreamline not TSOR
  16. I took my 7 year old to the show last night in Atlanta. He loved it!!! He rocked the entire show.
  17. Atlanta show dropped TBE and Middletown/Manhattan Project and replaced it with Limelight and TSOR
  18. You can't beat John Carpenter's Halloween
