Tick
When I used to sing in my band we would generally get paid anywhere from 400 to 1000 dollars a night to play. Some nights I would make 250 bucks for myself for doing something I would have done for free. I wish I had a job like that now.
sullysue
My department is outsourced to do post foreclosure work for Freddie Mac. But, before ya'll start throwing things at me, let me explain. We audit claims submitted by banks who have serviced mortgages that have gone into foreclosure and which Freddie Mac purchases. We make sure the banks are adhering to the guide lines and not getting more money than they should. And, let me tell you.... they all lie, cheat and steal to get every fraudulent penny they can. My job makes my brain feel like mush, and we're all criminally underpaid. But, at least there is a teeny tiny bit of honor in what we're doing. Yes, it can be thankless (it DOES involve a bit more than butt-wiping, eh? ) but you're fortunate that you get to be there with your kids, enjoying them and enjoying your home. I miss that sometimes, too. But, there was a little part of me that would envy the people who were off and on their way to work while I was dropping the kids off at school. The grass is always greener, huh? Luckily, I work with people who generally make it pleasant to be here. For me, work is my sanctuary away from fighting, complaining, demanding kiddos and a house that's falling apart around me.
