The singers from Abba
Spanky McFarlane (Spanky and our Gang)
Judith Durham (from the Seekers)
Mama Cass and Michelle

Spanky and Our Gang!!

Wow!... long time since I've heard anybody mention them.

Had this 45rpm single. I was 11 years old and loved this song.

It was the harmonizing and the change up at about the 2:10 minute mark that hooked me smile.gif

I'm a long time fan of Bonnie Raitt!

The beautiful lady can sing AND play. I wish I could sing the blues as can she!

From the '70's when I first discovered the rich voice of Bonnie Raitt...

One more...

I love "Like to Get to Know You," too. Reminds me of simpler times. I'm not embarrassed to say I bought the 45 in my twenties.

And good call on the woman from The Seekers. More "simpler times." Their version of "Red Rubber Ball" was great.

Love the Fifth Dimension!

How about Mama Cass Elliott of the Mamas And Papas?

Cass Elliott had a very smooth and pretty voice...

Some of my favourites:

  • Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins, solo) (my favourite vocalist of all time)
  • Elizabeth Kandefer (The Daysleepers)
  • Rachel Fury (never had a solo career (sad.gif) but sung for Pink Floyd in the late 80s :
    )
  • Rachel Goswell (Slowdive)

Harriet Wheeler from The Sundays

Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins

yes.gif of course. The list is endless.

cool. I don't run across a lot of people who appreciate Harriet Wheeler - I think she is one of the best. it's a shame they only put out three albums. I am always hoping that they will put out another one, especially since the music industry has changed so much since Static and Silence came out. natalie Merchant is great as well.
