  1. "We Need to Talk About Kevin" Tilda for all the awards.
  2. Such a funny show. "Bazinga!" "Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr." I have all four seasons and watch season five on CBS.com because I don't know how to set up bunny ears, although I think my TV is too old for bunny ears (a good section of it is turning green).
  3. Jazz Fest again this year. I'm seeing Foo Fighters, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Florence and the Machine, Bon Iver, and many more.
  4. Can I choose all the decades please? For my tumblr I tend to post more 2000s, but my affinity for his sexy younger years grow, plus I love his 80's hair and fashion are amazing, and obviously I think the 90's did wonders for him. I really can't choose.
  5. Thanks for posting this. I hate to say I haven't been keeping up with Neil Peart's site. Not to say I'm not keeping up with Rush because I have been, don't worry.
  6. Cajun country is cajun country, i.e. hot and gross and hot and humid and HOT. My old Honda decided that this was year to have the air conditioning go out so I need to go get it fixed. It's weather like this that makes me miss my home state (even if the western portion is flooding and people pronounce Minot like "Minnow").
  7. I've only been to the Six Flags parks in Texas, but my dream is to go to Cedar Point and ride the big coasters there. And this is happening since my sister and her husband live there and she has been. As far as Six Flags go, I can only speak for the parks in Texas and I'm pretty certain they actually closed the one in Houston (Astroworld) because it was so trashy (they moved it to New Orleans and then JazzLand closed because of the hurricane and it never opened again). But, go for the coasters and ignore the rest. I was on this coaster when it broke. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d0/Sfot_gotham_city.jpg My love affair with roller coasters is inexplicable.

    Stalking

Aie, these are scary to read... and old. Well, I'll contribute. My stalker story (this has since resulted in a restraining order and it's why I live in the state I do now): My freshman year of college I became friends with a fellow music major. We were sort of in a group of girls (not all of music majors; we all lived in the same dorm) who hung out together- one of my fondest memories was all twelve of us watching "Deliverance" late one night and screaming our heads off. She sort of attached herself to me and began telling me about her past- how she came from a small town in Texas, all of the different things she had gone through, etc. I listened and was supportive, which I figured was the only thing I could do. Things started to get weird around the Christmas holiday and a little afterward. Granted, this was the year I was diagnosed with epilepsy so things were a little rough on me, but she started to do two things: a. she started telling me some rather startling things (like that she had killed a litter of kittens for one) and b. I had a boyfriend from my home town and she was getting possessive of me. On the latter note, on account of the epilepsy I needed to sleep a lot and she used to come to my room at odd hours of the night, even morning, and would knock on my door. Things started to progress that March when I found biographical serial killer novels in her room as well as cutting knives (which are not permitted in college dorm rooms, at least not ours). I tried not to freak, but at the time she was going through some issues regarding her sexuality and I initially was scared she was thinking about killing herself until, well, one day some things pointed to something else. She offered to drive me to get my medication and she turned to me and said, "you know, I could drive you off the road and kill us and no one would ever know." I remember thinking, "um, get me out of the car, stat." It only got worse. Prior to this I had told her some personal things because I had thought we were friends and she started using those for her own weird and sick advantage. She started telling me odd things relating to them (I don't want to get into it), but it all tied back to this: "if I can't have you, no one can" and she threatened to kill me. She actually used to sit in our public showers and wait for me in there. My Poli Sci professor had been a lawyer so I ran to him for help and he took me to the campus police who ran a thorough investigation of the room and found the knives and serial killer books. They said it wasn't enough evidence to kick her out of the University (she was kicked out of the music department though), however, I had to file a restraining order and after that I was closely monitored by various people. Very scary stuff. My mom even came to stay with me for a month to help me with the restraining order and to just be moral support while I was going through all of this. The final decision came when all of the stress took its toll and my seizures got worse so my neurologist, my voice teacher, and my lawyer/professor decided it would be best if I moved (I generally tell people I moved for my health, not because of the stalker-girl although if prompted I tell them the whole story). After I moved, she found me and started harassing me via e-mail and facebook. I remained in contact with my professor who told me to change my e-mail to the most bizarre e-mail address I could (which it is! It's a funny e-mail address) and then my sister's ex-boyfriend helped me hide my facebook from her. So, if you ever search for me on facebook, this is the reason why I am so well hidden. Since then she has only found me once and she contacted me to apologize. My hope is that she is living a happy and fulfilled life and received help for what she did.
  9. I'm surprised no one's made a topic for this film yet. So, I saw it opening day (for my city) because I've waited forevah to see this d*mn film. I'm going to try and put my thoughts (spoilers) under this lovely tan color to try and cover them up: SPOILERSI'm still trying to decide how I feel about it. I don't think it's that hard to "get," although I do think it's kind of pretentious (and in some dire need of editing at times). But overall it's probably the most beautiful film I've ever seen (cinematography and score wise). I really did love all of themes about grief, grace/nature, theology, loss of innocence, and pain and the relationship between the three brothers. It was intense and beautiful. I just thought it needed some editing. I loved the evolution sequence (although that could have been cut up some) /END SPOILERY THOUGHTS If anyone has already seen it, I'd love to get other people's thoughts.
  10. QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Jun 25 2011, 12:30 PM) I was surfing around this morning, and I came across some photos of Our Man that I haven't seen posted, or at least haven't seen posted too much! http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n639/savageamy/intensegeddy.jpg So intense! Some smart person turned that one into a motivational poster that I found on google images and now resides on my iPod. http://images.cheezburger.com/completestore/2010/4/22/129164637146871280.jpg
  11. QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Jun 25 2011, 10:28 AM) QUOTE (garbo @ Jun 25 2011, 10:06 AM) I also waited for Far Cry and got this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/Rush%20concerts/CIMG4095.jpg That is an awesome photo!!! I stood and waited through the whole damn song to get the picture. Their pyrotechnics are amazing! Hehe, I figured you ladies would appreciate that photo! I thought it was funny when it cropped up. He's one sexy man and his wife is one lucky lady!
  12. I really loved this movie, in fact, I loved this movie so much I bought the special edition. I think you should take into account that this film transcends the norms of traditional Sci-Fi into other terrains. I could go on a nerd/philosophy dialogue, but I will control myself. *blush*
  13. "When You Left the Fire" by The Wilderness of Manitoba (aw, I love them) My friend made me a free copy of "Born This Way" by Lady GaGa (I'm ashamed, but he wanted me to listen to it. WHY?! I don't know)
