  1. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Feb 21 2011, 12:35 PM) the scene in Rob Roy where Jessica Lange is raped was pretty hot... I know, rape isn't supposed to be hot. Blame the director. Ugh!!!!! Seriously ...?
  2. What great news! Even if it's not the weekend, just think how far you've come. She'll be home in no time, crying in the middle of the night, keeping everybody awake. Let the sleep deprivation begin - remember that?
  3. What made my day - saw Unknown with my boyfriend Liam Neeson in it. He was dreamy, but the movie ... just okay.
  4. Sounds lovely ... it's all about the accessories anyway, right? You'll have to take pictures at the big event and post them!
  5. I thought the movie for Angels & Demons was much more interesting than the book. The reverse is true for the DaVinci Code - book was way better than the movie. Looking forward to Lost Symbol being made into a movie - I thought the book was the best of the three.
  6. My favorite was when they were looking for the church where they had their first show.
  7. Whoops! Here's the other room. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0542.jpg
  8. Here are murals I painted for my boys' rooms. For the Justice League I borrowed the school overhead projector to shine a coloring book image on the wall - no freehand stuff for this girl. For the flag - a yard stick and painters tape were my friends. (please excuse the teenager's unmade bed - yeeeeeesh!). Sadly, both murals are now gone. About six months ago, the 18 year old wanted a "plain" room with rock posters. Of course the 12 year old, wanting to be "super cool" like his brother wanted the same thing, so it broke my heart, but several coats of Kilz did the job. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0541.jpg
  9. It took me about 2 or so weeks to paint the table. It was a Wysocki looking pattern for sure, but not authentic. It was meant to be a wall plaque with a plywood banner scroll work around it, but I just chose to square it off and use it for the table instead. Here are some signs that I painted to go way high up in the kitchen above the cabinets as a background to my house cookie jar collection. They are towns in northeastern Indiana Amish country (one of my favorite places in the world). Again with the painting the background and then just tracing a Print Shop banner and filling it in. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0682.jpg http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0681.jpg
  10. First grade teacher at a highly transient second language school. My class is the first grade inclusion class which means I have all the first grade special ed. students in my class - we have our days, but mostly it's great fun.
  11. Weatherman is right. I forgot about the Tropicana - very convenient to the concert. The pool has been voted the best Las Vegas pool for something like 8 years - it has a swim up blackjack bar, among other things. Can't say much about the rooms since I've never stayed there. The Mandalay Bay is also known for its pools, but in my experience they were so crowded as to not be enjoyable. The Bellagio pools are, of course, pristine!
  12. And here are some pictures of the family room coffee table that I talked about. I have jokingly told my husband that if there's ever a fire, get the family out and then somehow manage to drag the table outside. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0672.jpg The whole table. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0674.jpg This was a pattern I traced - I certainly did not freehand this. I've got more of this stuff if you want to see ... ?
  13. Okay ... here are the promised pictures of some of the stuff I've painted. If you like modern stuff - avert your gaze ... you just might get burned. First here is the ad out of Country Sampler magazine with the game boards I was trying to replicate: http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/C102H010A.jpg And here is what I made instead. For the signs I just painted a background, made a banner on Print Shop, traced it onto the board and painted it in. I found the "Billiards" sign in a magazine and blew it up on a copier a gazillion times and traced it onto the board and painted it in: http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd465/luvrush1/100_0666.jpg
  14. Even though I live in town, I have stayed at both the MGM & the Bellagio for special occassions such as anniversaries and such. You can't beat the Bellagio for customer service. I wasn't all that impressed with the MGM - nothing special in my opinion. For something right in between, maybe try the Mandalay Bay ...? My experience was that it was not as expensive as the Bellagio, not as great with the customer service, but better than the MGM. Or you could really go out on a limb and try the new Aria at City Center - looks beautiful - probably pricey, but nice.
  15. Super faboo! I love it!
