Don't judge. I love these books. I feel nostalgic when I read them because I read them years ago when they first came out.

The only judgement I'm making here is to judge you as having good taste - I love Harry potter too.

As for me, I've just started reading Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

The first book in this trilogy, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," was bloody brilliant; I couldn't put it down. The second book, "The Girl Who Played with Fire," not nearly so much; a let-down compared to the first. It was a police procedural where they followed dead leads for the first 450 pages. ("Gee, we're not getting anywhere with this case," the police kept saying. "No," I felt like replying, "You're really not.")

Here's the third in the series, and I'm hoping things pick up. It promises to be a "legal thriller" in comparison with the others, and that sounds good to me.

By the way, I'm watching the Swedish film made from the first book tonight.

After the beastly Wizard and Glass, I felt drained. But once I started the fifth installment, I found the groove again.

I love it so far. I've read a few reviews that claim Wolves is slow-paced. Codswallop. If you want to blame Stephen King for a slow-paced book, target Wizard.

I absolutely love that series. I have read through it twice and it was even better the second time through. Wizards may have gone slow but once you hit the last hundred pages or so in Wolves it's non stop to the end of the series so you should be prepared.

As for me now I just finished up 1984 again and am re-reading White Noise.

Started re-reading Steppenwolf By Hermann Hesse again last night, first read it about 6 or 7 years ago, giving it another go.

A hefty book about women kicking ass since we came over from that smaller nation we were once part of.

Still reading - up to Eleanor Roosevelt 1930's, 40's. I never new Franklin cheated on her -dazed025.gif

Anna Karenina and Dr. Zhivago...both at the same time.

The first one was so long & I only finished half of it.

I needed a break. I might finish it next month.

I haven't read Stephen King in years...I actually went out of my way to avoid everything from the Horror genre after overdosing on things like King and Koontz and Barker and the like.

But, I recently gave him another shot after hearing that he had pulled out a way-old story idea of his and went directly back to the drawing board to finish this Epic, 1976 storyline...The first thing that came to mind when I heard this news was that maybe we had another 'The Stand' coming our way...

Last year's 'The Dome' was certainly totally EPIC in structure, very much like 'The Stand' was...The book was over 1,100 pages, with the first two of them issuing the reader an index of the twenty-plus main characters that you'll meet throughout this humongous read...Not as good as 'The Stand', but it does have the same 'feel' in places.

So, I just recently finished that behemoth monster...And, I think that ol' Stevey might just have a humorous streak in him....The last book was a titan that you could barely hold up with one hand...His newest release, which I just finished in two quick 1/2 hour trials, looks like a flimsy 'pamphlet' in comparison...'Blockade Billy' was a measly 112 pages!...No joke...A baseball story, not for the kiddies, this one.
