  1. I can just here Bob biting his tongue on that last post...So, I'll go and do what he wouldn't do in this situation...Get a little joy from liviing vicariously through this, Bog...None of my entries had anything to do with Priests at The Temples Of Syrinx...I'm now wondering if Goob even reads posts other than his own, he's so self absorbed. Goob, you've never actually 'laughed aloud' at anyone's entry here, EV-ER...If you did, you'd be a phuckin' mental patient, locked in a closet somewhere, you Oregonian turdball...This game is not that sort of medium, not even in the least...Be truthful to yourself and others here, at least once....It comes across so cheezy when you say that you're laughing out loud, and then you come and say the complete opposit. In our PM's, you've made it quite obvious that you're completely unable to detect quality or humour in any other person here, on any level...of course, other than yourself. That, I'll give ya. I gave you several opportunities to point towards something, anything that you thought was funny on this thread and couldn't do it...You've removed yourself from this game time and again because others wouldn't or couldn't acknowledge that your storyboard contribs were any good...But, ya see that my tactics are a lil' different than yours, huh? And, it's the same schitt with you clowns, only the year has changed...As once again, one-dimensional obviousness and simplicity of mind wins out every single time over actual inventiveness, craft and creativity...I sit here and watch, time and time again, people actually reward banality, uninventiveness and stupidity on every single round since I been watching along from way back in June. Some of ya'll are humorless, small and simple-minded men...Ya know that, don't cha? You know WHO ya'll are. I definitely would not presume to be speaking to ALL in this manner, that's for sure...I'm sorry to those who's buzz I've ruined by doing this. But, this thread is only an ego-massage session, not a competition. There's no way I can believe, no way that I can be convinced with the evidence in such plain sight, that people here are actually picking these 'winning entries' out of anything other than sheer spite, and a hardcore reluctance to part with deserving praise even where its due. The wins here are literally on the level of some Elementary School class' fingerpainting class...This thread and the kingpins around it amount to nothing more than an afternoon whack off session for frail egos. How can I win so many of these rounds at other sites, but be locked out here entirely? I just doesn't jibe with reason, man. And everyone has their little quirks, indeed...Myself included, I'll admit...I can't tolerate stupidity, and have a boiling point for it...Thusly, you get THIS explosion....BUT, 1-0-0-1 tailors his entries to the EGO of each player who's currently in the JUDGE's chair, as per his own words on the subject...He knows precisely how to give those lill' ego strokes when he detects someone cravin' 'em...And, Gary thinks that every player here is completely humorless, other than himself, of course...Btw, Gar, I just sent off a batch of your PMs about how 'unfunny' 1-0-0-1 is to his PM box...Probably reading through the bulk of 'em right now... See ya later, phuckjoints...So, phuckin' threatened you guys are by outsiders and ideas bigger and better than your own...So f'n threatened are SOME of the males here by outsider's ideas...Can't even ackowledge the worth of another person...By some of your language, it would kill you to do so. Go suck the old, grey balls of Jimmy Carter, you britches! No, but seriously, have some good, rich, eventful lives full of depth of meaning...I'd hate for something 'petty' like this to come between us...Truly...If you guys want, I'll still stick around after closing hour and watch you dudes jag off each other's egos behind the mail trucks, like we used to do back in seminary...You guys are the best...See ya...Kisses.
  2. Early, Pre-NFL 'zone defense' formation...The 'Safety' back then was permitted to carry a heavy, solid steel bar...and if you beat all the other defenders deep in the back field, it was down to a contest between yourself, him, your ball and his bat. It was beautiful...Game shoulda never changed.
  3. I got 'Anesthetize' playing right now...LOUD...It's 7:00 am and I can't sleep...It's funny how specific exposure to a track can get you so much more into the music...I notice how much of an impact the 'live' treatment can have on people in general...Tunes that folks can't appreciate sometimes at all with the 'studio' version, instantly come alive in the live setting... I'm not saying that I wasn't enamored of 'Anesthetize' before the show...It's just those darn 'Floydian Marching Pills'...They got me a little high, son. And, the other track I keep reliving over again is 'Time Flies'...My buddy, for him, last Friday night was the first time he heard the piece...Said that it made him feel 'melancholic'...I said, 'What Steve Wilson music doesn't?'...He doesn't know enough. Most people don't know any at all. Good for us. Sad for them.

  6. QUOTE (Wilderness_of_Mirrors @ Sep 27 2010, 08:39 PM) QUOTE (thelocator @ Sep 27 2010, 07:36 PM) That was one awesome show, indeed. Thanks for the feedback, bro. awesome show is an understatement!! maybe the best concert ive ever been to. and no problem, man!!!!! i tried my best I know which fan site I'm going to drop all this technical stuff on next, and see how they react...Bigtime PT geeks over there...If we were wrong about any of our assessments here, they'll be happy to point it out for us...lol...Won't take credit for any of your knowledge though...You know way more about this band than myself... I remember that it was so much easier to know every in and out about a group when I was back in my teens and Led Zeppelin, Sabbath and The Doors that I needed to know anything about...Now, it's dozens upon dozens of bands, and some of the info kinda blends together. What NIGHT does the Royal Albert House show happen, and is there ANY CHANCE of a DVD coming out of that event?
  7. After ya go an' git yerself mussed in all da various Pubs, Tap Rooms and Ale Houses of this won'drous and grand ole city they call New York, don't firgit ta stop in and and pay a visit to the Pork Ya Pin Tree...It'll be waitin' fer ya.
  8. QUOTE (Wilderness_of_Mirrors @ Sep 27 2010, 02:55 PM) QUOTE (thelocator @ Sep 27 2010, 01:33 PM) Really? You're telling me that The Blind House, with accompanying film, came a full four songs before the next song with an attached film? I don't think so. But, I guess so...If this is what you're saying and no one else is saying different... Can you give me a hint to how the 'Blind House' film begun? Was it with some imagery other than with the Women? I remember being sucked into the films right away and my two other brethren, rather - clansmen felt the same way about them...These films were transcendent in a way...Very immersive, that's fer sure. You're saying two more things here, and I want to see if they jibe with what I remember...Actually, this would be a big help in getting things straight...When you say that Occam's Razor had the ' images flashing on beat with the song'...are you speaking of the RED lights moving across the stage in syncopated rhythm? Because, if you are - there were TWO songs that used this 'red light' schema...Can you name the other? Aside from you interjecting that 'new' item...You also seem to infer that there was a 'Fifth' film attached to the Encore song - 'Arriving Somewhere'...Let's see if we can get these coupla things squared away and then I'm sure that both our memories will be better served...Thanks. i dont really remember how the Blind House video started....but Occams Razor didnt have the red lights, Tinto Brass in the first set definately had those lights, and MAYBE "Up The Downstair" but i dont remember exactly. Occams Razor is a really short prelude that leads int o The Blind House.. and the four songs between Blind House and Time Flies (the songs with videos) was only really two real songs. Great Expectations and Kneel & Disconnect are really short interlude things, while Drawing The Line and Dislocated Day were full songs. but anywho, there was definately some visual stuff for Arriving Somewhere....not for the whole song, but it was there. Alright, this all makes sense now. 'Dislocated Day' is the one and only song from that evening that I was unfamilar with...I remember the general whereabouts of when I had the realization that I didn't know this track. So, the 'four song sequence' that I was talking about, the segment of the show that I said was 'the most intense song sequence' that I've ever been privy to view MUST be what I have labeled here as Second Set B. IT WAS FUSSIN' INSANE, MAN!!! How about that end of the show, huh? Right? They killed it, sent it home, bang it up and beat it to a pulp, and returned once more around the bend to smack it outta the park, man...That was one awesome show, indeed. Thanks for the feedback, bro. Second Set A Occam's Razor ("The Incident" images flashing on beat with the song) The Blind House (mormon women vid) Great Expectations (none) Kneel and Disconnect (none) Drawing the Line (none) Dislocated Day (none) Second Set B Time Flies (time flies music video) The Pills I'm Taking (crazy pills video) Up the Downstair (none) Sleep Together (weird robot video, i think)
  9. QUOTE (Wilderness_of_Mirrors @ Sep 27 2010, 10:58 AM) QUOTE (thelocator @ Sep 27 2010, 03:03 AM) What's not jibin' well with memory is that the 'Mormon Women' film comes first in this here thread's posted lineup...I'm not recalling that at all as the first film shown...And, secondly, I don't remember such a big gap between the first and second film shown that night...Some thing(s) don't look kosher in PT town...Can you 'splain the anomalies? heres the whole second set: Occam's Razor ("The Incident" images flashing on beat with the song) The Blind House (mormon women vid) Great Expectations (none) Kneel and Disconnect (none) Drawing the Line (none) Dislocated Day (none) Time Flies (time flies music video) The Pills I'm Taking (crazy pills video) Up the Downstair (none) Sleep Together (weird robot video, i think) Encore: Arriving somewhere but not here (really cool spacey video with clouds at the end) the video with the women was definately for The Blind House because the song is about a religious cult, or fundamentalist group who held a bunch of women hostage so that is what the video was all about.... the other video youre wondering about was either for Sleep Together, or Bonnie The Cat in the first set but honestly i really dont know what video youre talking about. Really? You're telling me that The Blind House, with accompanying film, came a full four songs before the next song with an attached film? I don't think so. But, I guess so...If this is what you're saying and no one else is saying different... Can you give me a hint to how the 'Blind House' film begun? Was it with some imagery other than with the Women? 11. QUOTE (Wilderness_of_Mirrors @ Sep 26 2010, 07:03 PM) QUOTE (thelocator @ Sep 26 2010, 03:02 PM) song was attached to the film with the 'Mormon Women'? And, what song was attached to the film with the 'Robot Automaton' banging away at that strage Morse Code device-looking thing? the one with the "mormon women" was The Blind House, and the other one was Sleep Together Thanks, mate...That was so awesome...I want it back for 12 more minutes.
  12. "After sorting through old photos of her 'Age Six' birthday party, Middle-aged Melissa came to the realization that it was her drunk and coked-up Uncle Artie who was the primary source of all that sick and deranged attraction to Equine anatomy and Hooved Mammals in general over the past 40 years...She took a long drag of her cigarette in contemplation of this new realization, then went out back to the stables and blew another horse."
  13. "Me? What do I do for a living? I'm a Volunteer down at St. Mark's Episcopal, the Children's Wing...That's what I do, that's who I am.......As an aside, I also put in some time as a Gay Fetish Porn actor... It's what makes that lifestyle of 'giving' even feasible for me and mine. Don't judge."
  14. Are you guy saying that Myung and Rudess were over at Hearland? Is this what your saying? How come Fricke didn't make his move for the primo info...I think I might have had some kinda journalistic folk sitting on either side of my table...They both were hush about it while talking about PT, but I overheard one guy say to the other that he had to get back to Petrucci...I told my buddies later about it. No one has yet to mention the joke, well the story that Wilson told about signing the guestbook over at Radio City Music Hall...He said that he usually signs guestbooks in dingy little clubs where the last signees before him were bands like the Death Metalers 'Deicide'...but when he signed at RCMH, he saw the names before him were like Oprah Winfrey and Conan O'Brien...I thought that was funny...I think these were the examples he gave...Not really sure...I was lit up nice by then. Speaking about being lit up nice...There was this 'four song sequence' that the band delivered that night that was THE MOST INTENSE song sequence I've ever been privy to at any show...And, I'm just trying to figure out precisely which four songs they could have been. I know that it had to happen towards the very end of the show... CAN SOMEONE point out which four of these six tracks had the short films attached to them...The four song sequence I'm thinking about, I believe, was comprised of three of the tracks with accompanying films, and then one heavy, fast, super-busy instrumental that was played withOUT a film...Can anyone pinpoint which segment I'm thinking of...IT WAS SO INTENSE...and I'm not so good with song titles. I definitely know which of the films where attached to 'Time Flies' and 'Part Two of Anesthetize - The Pills" Those were absolutely insane and intense pieces of audio/visual...But what song was attached to the film with the 'Mormon Women'? And, what song was attached to the film with the 'Robot Automaton' banging away at that strage Morse Code device-looking thing? Kneel and Disconnect - TI Drawing The Line - TI Dislocated Day - SMS Time Files - TI The Pills I'm Taking - FOABP Up The Downstair -UTDS
  15. Does anyone have a photo of that mad cool, Grey, 'Recordings' T-shirt they were selling at the venue?...That's the one I wanted...But, my buddies showed no interest in waiting for me as I tackled that mob of a malformed line...And, I really had no interest in waiting either...I do know that an 'impulse purchase' is what was called for there that evening...I told myself that I'd go home and order that very same shirt online...but that just ain't never happenin' now, is it. I can't stop thinking about those short films that came towards the end of the show...definitely my favourite 'four song sequence' of the entire night came within that specific sub-set of tunes...The very next morning I had these lines in my head...because, man oh man was that segment a real trip... "The time is 9:30 pm, one hour after the participants have eaten sugar cubes saturated with LSD...We hear Brian and his fellow travellers observing their gradual transformation.......Brian's been amusing his friends by chewing on some plastic flashbulbs."

  18. Let me tell ya the most fun you can have at someone else's expense...preferably a close friend, but any smiley-faced acquaintance will do just fine...someone you don't mind embarassing the heck out of in front of a large group of people...This prack was done to me back in High School, at some local, dive movie theater, and I've been pulling the gag on others ever since. Last night, during the three intermissions that PT delivered unto us, the fans, mostly the males in the crowd, 'cause that's the largest segment of the drinking crowd, they all head off to the bathrooms for a good leak while they got the chance. So, what you do is wait for a big ol' line to form for the restrooms, all those stinky toilets straight up ahead as the final destination for all these tipsy men...Now, it's got to be a spontaneous thing...This is something that just sorta gotta happen because the opportunity presents itself...You can't be waiting around the john with this line in your mind, or it'll come out as sounding contrived...plus, folks will stare at you for hangin' around the john. You spot a couple of your friends from another fan site up at the head of the line, just about ready to get their turn with the toilets...You wait until they spot you waving at them and you shout out, loud enough for everyone else on the line as well as in earshot to hear you...."Scottie, Jimbo! What are you guys doin'? Goin' to get somethin' to eat?"... My delivery of this was right on the money last night...as everyone on line, as well as whoever else was in hearing distance all burst out in laughter...It was great fun...I got that guy back from High School good for doing it to me...Got him back in spades by now...Remember this gag for just such an occasion...From where I was standing, I could already see both of those white boy's faces turn completely RED as I walked away laughing.
  19. My fav three are spaced evenly apart in the catalog: In the Court of the Crimson King Red The Power To Believe Most everyone who would read and write in a thread like this one would already know this info, but if you're a big fan of RED and haven't checked out POWER yet, that's the one you should be looking at next. Great recording.
  20. The only way someone could say possibly The Resistance is if they haven't heard the first three albums yet...and, if they're a POP fan, instead of a PROG fan...I actually was only halfsies on BH&R, but I've completely jumped ship for the new one...I think it's corny as all heck...I think it's as corny as the word 'heck'.
  21. QUOTE (tangy @ Sep 25 2010, 12:21 PM)most are from the the incident TI The Pills I'm Taking- second half of anesthetize from FOABP Sleep Together- FOABP I guess you're right...The titles haven't become a part of my (now limited) memory just yet... I'll tell ya one thing...The video set up they had going on for - The Pills I'm Taking- second half of anesthetize from FOABP was AMAZING! Pulled you right into the film. QUOTE (Natch @ Sep 25 2010, 08:16 AM)Hey, Locator, I'm sorry I missed you last night. The sound system was just incredible...very full rich sound. Probably the best sound I've ever heard at a show. My bones were rattling from the bass. Sorry I missed you guys too...You mentioned about the bass, and one of my friends actually thought it was overkill...But, the other one had attended the Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) show with me there back in '07, and Geezer Butler's bass that night was like the beast in Cloverfield, just tearin' down Manhattan note by note...
  22. QUOTE (sullysue @ Sep 25 2010, 02:21 AM)Are you saying you haven't heard The Incident until tonight?!? If that's correct, first off... WTF????? Second... you must have been blown the hell away. That's what I was working with as well...Both guys I attended with were sparse with their PT knowledge...They might have known a 1/5 of the tuneage played last night. QUOTE (tangy @ Sep 25 2010, 09:22 AM)Small Fish I Drive The Hearse Bonnie The Cat Great Expectations Kneel and Disconnect Drawing The Line Dislocated Day The Pills I'm Taking Sleep Together Lot of heavy, fast, super-busy, instrumentals interspered between the singing tracks...Everything I heard sounded familar to me, ALL except for only ONE track towards the very end. But, now that I look at these song names, some of them I just can't place which album they come from...Can some PT Scholar post where each of these songs derive?
  23. QUOTE (sullysue @ Sep 24 2010, 09:41 PM) How hard can it be to find a madman in a Nike hat? I have a bunch of ideas to share about this show, but I can't seem to keep my computer ON long enough to do that...So, I'll try again tomorrow...Suffice it to say that this was one really special treat for me and the boys...Really, the most TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED show I've ever been at...I thought this of the '07 RUSH, but this gig was even more so...much more so in that dept. There were two screens on either side of the stage, but the one screen directly behind the band was absolutely HUGE..HUMONGOUS...like the length of, I dunno, let's say five and half Lincoln Continentals...Schitt was TALL too, son...And, the mini-movies that had been developed for no less than FOUR of their songs were just SPECTACULAR...I think that this is a word that the guys over at Radio City like to use a lot in conjunction with their productions...It was a SPECTACLE of spectacular proportion, is what it was. Even without the Rockettes. The mini-movies really kept the audience completely engaged in the show...Brilliant idea...and it was super smart of the band to keep the hid until about half way through the gig. Two of the films featured humans and cars and buildings..and the two others featured animated sequences that weren't terribly unlike what you would see in them crazy-ass TOOL videos...HIGHLY ENTERTAINING, the whole shebang...But, were the mini-movies developed especially for the RCMH and Albert Hall shows, or have they been showing them on much smaller screens when playing much smaller venues? I had spent Two Hours and Fifteen minutes over at Heartland Brewery and never did meet up with Metaldad...I did meet up with a bunch of folks from the Yesfans contingent, and was very glad to meet up with a guy that I've spoken to on the net for years now, but have never met in person until tonight. I literally went from table to table and preached the word on PT to anyone who even remotely looked like the were going to the gig...Of course, I waited until I had a few brews, pale ales, in me first... Then, I basically played the part of 'preacher' as I sung high praise to an assembly which was basically comprised of all converts to begin with...But, you'd be surprised how many of them don't know about Blackfield, or the Wilson/Akerfeldt collabs...I even sold a few shlubs on how awesome the latest Transatlantic outing is...But, then we noticed that we weren't seeing any more PT, Yes or Rush shirts around us any more and knew that we were now late for the dance. The sound system over at RCMH was also way SPECTACULAR...My buddies were very impressed with how rich the sound was...On the way out, I wanted to get myself a very cool looking Grey PT 'Recordings' T-shirt, but my friends didn't want to wait for me while on line...We hit up a bar on our walk back to Penn Station and then split out of the city around 12:30 or so....HIGHLY SATISFYING night, for certain. I'm kinda upset that I couldn't find andy of the TRF members, but I was being pretty visible over at Heartland, and no one approached me...And, I had delivered enough info on what I'd be wearing for someone to order a hit on me...What a strage array of people too...This was the strangest, most complex and unpredictable assortment of people that I've ever seen at a show...Overall, a very cool thing we indulged in last night...The song selection was amazing...and there was only ONE song that I was unfamilar with...I have no idea where the song could have come from...unless it was from the very first PT release...the only album I'm still unfamilar with.
  24. QUOTE (metaldad @ Sep 24 2010, 11:34 AM) Your on bro. I will be wearing a Rush workshirt black and shorts. C-ya soon Still haven't left yet...Waiting for me bro and his lil' bro, Nephew to arrive...Neither one of them know any of the PT material from '07 or '09...I know, right...But, this is what I have to work with here tonight. We have to make due with who and what God hands us. lol. I dunno know if yer still around, broseph...or if ya got one of them space-aged mobile devices where ya can read this on the fly, but, aside from the Black Nike Hat, I'll also have a long sleeve, Hunter Green shirt on, and some, oversized, light beige pants...I know, the color, a total crime after Labor Day... That's enough info for someone to either spot me in a crowd, or lay a hit on me from a sniper tower miles away...Your move, man. PT, son! P fussin' T! and we hustle and cuss hustle and cuss and lick on the dust hustle and cuss hustle and cuss and lick on the dust must you muscle and fuss? you muscle and fuss and lick on the dust hustle and cuss hustle and cuss and lick on the dust yeah
