treeduck Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Another one gone. I think first heard of him in 1977 in Roots. RIP 3

zepphead Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 For me he will always be Thulsa Doom. RIP James 1
invisible airwave Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 He's even in an MST3K riffed movie. "This is F-U-N."
Principled Man Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The first time I watched James Earl Jones was when he played Barney Hill in the 1975 TV movie "The UFO Incident". (Real life) Barney and Betty Hill claimed to have been abducted by aliens in 1961 New Hampshire. 2
Nova Carmina Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Oh no! What a titan. What a voice! What a loss. RIP, and thank you for the memories. 1

1-0-0-1-0-0-1 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 "People will come, Ray." I can't imagine anyone else doing this speech. RIP to one of the greats. 6
Principled Man Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Jones played sleazy lawyer Lee Atkins for two episodes of L.A. Law back in the late 80's. District Attorney Grace van Owen (Susan Dey) hated him with a passion, as he always weaseled his way out of a court decision, so he would never "lose" a case. I remember when Atkins escaped the case that she was winning (it was declared a mistrial), he gave her a pompous, mocking smile. She was so PISSED.....

Principled Man Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Professor Banks: Mr. Watson, I am not a humorless man, but if you insist on taking up my class time making jokes, please see to it that they are funny. Soul Man (1986)

Principled Man Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 And that's why right-thinking school boards all across the country have been banning this man's S-H-l-T since 1969. You know why he stopped writing books? Because he masturbates! 1

You know why he stopped writing books? Because he masturbates! Gotta love Amy Madigan as Amy Kinsella, and her response- "At least he is not a book burner, you Nazi cow." Who ever thought we would be dealing with this in real life again? RIP, James Earl Jones. He was so great as Terence Mann. I would have loved to see him in Fences on Broadway- apparently it was a life changing performance; and I can see where it would be. 2
