Segue Myles Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Something Corporate- Leaving Through The Window I've been aware of this band forever. Something Corporate were seen as an early example of where emo could potentially go, and I hear the future of the genre here. This came out in 2002, and yet would have felt fresh in 2006. It's very teen-oriented, but hey? This came out when I was eleven, and I relate to these lyrics and the genre. Love it! Never too late to fall in love with an album! Brand New- Deja Entendu Jimmy Eat World- Futures The Juliana Theory- Emotion Is Dead Yeah, I will forever love this genre. 3
ST3V Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Just recently learned that this album cover was just a quick rough draft that Syme made He presented it to Neil "So, you want perhaps something like this?" "No, that. I want that" 9

Just wish that wonky jazz track wasn't tacked on the end, lol Mick Yeah Mick , I know what you mean, re: ‘Don’t Stop me Now ‘ ( featuring Miles Davis ) When I purchased the album on cassette ( on the day it’s release back in ‘86 I thought to myself upon hearing it what the heck is this 🙃🤔 ”This isn’t AOR/Melodic Hard Rock LOL ! “🤣 it’s grown on me over the years as has the Steve Porcaro ballad ( with Don Henley on backing vocals ) ‘ Lea ‘ But I still reckon after all these years that their next album with Joseph ‘ The Seventh One ‘ ( 10/10) still tops it ! 🙂

Don't Stop me now is on there just so the boys could jerk themselves off saying we played with Miles....that's all it's there for Also seventh one.....is my 2nd fav toto. and Joseph is hands down the best front guy they ever had. yyz305 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 As much a I like Alison Krauss, I enjoy the Joe only versions of 'This Guitar' and 'Lifeless' more. Glad they added them as bonus tracks. 6
Segue Myles Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Something Corporate- Leaving Through The Window I'm loving this, it makes me feel 15 again. Proof I don't love this genre simply for nostalgia, as I never heard this before! 1
Rick N. Backer Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Yesterday: Judas Priest - Point of Entry Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance 7
bluefox4000 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Dan Fogelberg-Souvenirs (10/10) i Tell you.......I know he's know for ballads and schmaltz but that's not a good representation of him. Actually if you like early Eagles and that 70's California sound. Try this album. You'll be surprised i think. Mick 2
bluefox4000 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) Dan Fogelberg-Capyured Angel (10/10) Love this one too. Remarkable is that Dan plays every instrument here expect drums and a few bass parts. Songs like Crow, Below The Surface, The Last Nail and Next time are among the 70's best IMO.
