I had a TIA ( ansient ischemic attack / temporary stroke ) on my birthday last year. No damage, thank God. My Docs were baffled because I'm healthly as a horse, eat right and at the gym 5 day a week. I also snowboard 5 days a week during the winter. After many tests and a bone marrow biopsy, they found I have a mutate gene ( JAK2 ) that controls the production of blood platelets. My JAK2 gene is lazy and not doing its job so I have too many platelets - cause my blood clot. My platelet counts are now normal and are being controled by meds.
