JohnnyBlaze
Philadelphia still standing today? What percentage of the city was burned to the ground? The only truly douchey thing was a broken store window. Some poles came down, some idiots climbed on a hotel awning which came down, a food fight in a convenience store, and some kid ate horseshit off the street. 99.9% of the huge throngs of people were just having fun. The cops were high fiving the crowd. Somebody's car got turned over too. That’s nothing compared to football/soccer fans in other parts of the world. Now, a kid eating horseshit?!!...that’s somethin’!!! I’m still shaking my head at that stupidity.

Dread Pirate Robert
17 records broken during this Super Bowl, including Brady's 505 yds passing. I like stats like that, with an asterisk, as in: he passed for a record 505 yards * but still lost the game

LedRush
One thing I noticed about this game is what I didn't notice much of. The refs, and it was refreshing. That is all...Those two 'disputed' Eagles TDs thankfully were called correctly. If those were taken away the NFL would have heard all off season about cooking the game. It's stupid that the NFL would even consider a slight hand off the ball or 3 steps before loosing the ball as an incomplete pass. It should be simple...two steps with control is a completion. The one that Ertz caught that they looked at for so long I thought was ridiculous- he was clearly a runner when the ball crossed the plane. End of story. The pass that Clement caught toward the back of the end zone was a lot more reviewable, and I was a little bit surprised that it was counted. Not upset, but I can see Pats fans being upset by it. But even without it...the Eagles won by more than seven points, so it wouldn’t have mattered in the end.It could have completely changed the game in that itcsets a whole other series of plays in motion. But it was the right call. I'm not so sure about the Clement call. That one was going to be called on review however it was called on the field, I think. The Ertz one was a no-brained that turned into a heart-attacker because of how odd the rules are written and how poorly they’ve been interpreted. Rick N. Backer
17 records broken during this Super Bowl, including Brady's 505 yds passing. Unreal offensive production by both teams. All joking aside this was like a Rocky movie. The real way to win is to limit the Pats to less than 20 pts. Instead a fing offensive slugfest ensues (DONT GO TOE TO TOE WITH HIM ROCK!) and we came out just ahead. Wow. I'm sure it was an exciting game to watch in a room that didn't have an 82 year old, a 50 year old, and a 14 year old all yelling some version of "WILL SOMEBODY TACKLE HIM?!" for most of the game. :)

In all seriousness, I really don't get the hate for him some have. He's a 6th round pick who has done great things. He's never in the news for being an a-hole to people, and wasn't when he was young and single. Whining to the refs is something about 95% of all players do. And these feelings about him predate "deflate-gate."

But there is no shortage of folks who like to rip down others' success wherever they see it. The guy at the next table where I saw the SB told his pal’s gf that he hated Brady “...because the Patriots are in the Superbowl every other year. I’m tired of it.” The bf agreed with a “Yup yup.” Amusing to me (but not to the bf or bf’s pal), she sarcastically replied, “That’s why you hate him?! What kind of reason is that?!” I laughed and they all looked over at me somewhat confused. I laughed more. Yeah, it’s not really that funny but I thought it was because his answer made so much sense to him and his friend...despite it not making any real sense. I’m sure it makes sense to a bunch of Pats haters too. The bf was the same bonehead from my earlier post here:Some bonehead at the table next to me kept talking his shit nonstop throughout the game. When that Brady strip/fumble happened, all he had to say was “bla bla bla cheater can’t hold on ha ha bla bla” instead of giving credit to the Eagles for forcing that turnover. It seems that I come across more bandwagon Pats HATERS than bandwagon Pats fans.

Arena League Football. In a related note, the sports books took a bath this year in the Super Bowl, with many books reporting six and seven-figure losses. Around $158 million was bet, and only about a 1% profit overall was reported. The combined record-breaking offensive performance led to a lot of proposition bets holding up. lerxt1990
I'm impressed with the owners of the Empire State Building http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2018/02/05/empire-state-building-lit-up-green/ If they put Dallas colors on a building in Philly after they win... well... you know what would happen. Weakly Criminal
I can't believe it, but I rooted for the Iggles, and I'm damn happy for our nfc east bunk mates. Anybody but those insufferable Pat's. The NFC east is now the only division comprised entirely of sb champions. And perhaps shegull fans can now calm the f down. Sheesh.

Del_Duio
Two things: Outstanding defensive pressure by the Eagles in the first half and in crunch time, and fantastic effort for yards after contact by the Eagles. The Pats simply didn't or couldn't tackle like the needed to.Goose, I like ya but let's be honest here there was no outstanding defense on either team. They both got lit up. 1 punt total, that has to be a record too.
