treeduck
I'm not interested in them and I never have been but I've seen decades of media obsession and I don't get it. Why all this blanket coverage of some dull wedding?
Fordgalaxy
Because they're "royalty" and some people are still enamored with that.

custom55
Look what we have in the US... an a-hole. I'd take the Royal Family over our POTUS family any day.
J2112YYZ
Never cared for them myself and I don't see why anyone outside of the UK would unless you onced lived there. Yet they cover it in the US like it's news of some kind that the Prince is getting married. Good for him I guess. Couldn't care less that two complete strangers to me are getting hitched. The same when Princess Diana died. Sure, it was sad how it went down but she wasn't our Princess so why should I care?

blueschica
I'm not obsessed but I enjoy their history and the view of a different lifestyle. I don't envy them, though, I couldn't imagine what it must be like to live under that magnifying glass.

Why all this blanket coverage of some dull wedding? It has been all over our media, also, because Meghan Markle's dad grew up like 20 miles from where I live. I guess he was back to his (very small) hometown two years ago. Now everyone there is waiting for their invitations, lol ! :)

That's kind of funny! I hadn't heard that. I really only heard about her the other day when they got engaged. My husband was like, "She must be cute if she was holding a suitcase on Deal or No Deal !" (He was serious! He always thought they had pretty girls on that show! )

Ancient Ways
Media is about hits and ratings. I guess those Germans really bring in the ratings. Half the articles I’ve seen on my news feed seem to focus on the royal family allowing non-white in. Not sure if that’s a bug issue over there or not. invisible airwave
to bring the focus off of the orange man Too late with the half bad half good day of yesterday with voodoo economics passing and Flynn pleading guilty. Eat the (empathy void) rich, as Aerosmith would say. At least those like Bill Gates give back to charities. Will definitely bring focus to Suits which stars her. Had no idea it was still on USA. I use Roku instead of cable and satellite now so I’m out of the loop regarding channels. Edited December 2, 2017 by invisible airwave

Fixed. :) The point isn't to favor one side over the other but simply to point out the fact that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. No side is any better, Enough of grandstanding please. Not saying that's what you're doing, but it happens every day. HemiBeers
Observing the British Royal Family takes our focus off the KhardASSians. Besides having daddy as a rich well known celeb lawyer...what value does the rest of them actually bring to us? I'm at a lost to find any. JohnRogers
I would answer, but I have to go watch The Crown . . . . .I have no interest in the Royals current day. I do enjoy historical based TV dramas, films and documentaries. I found season one of The Crown very engaging, to see history from the perspective of Elizabeth II, how the Royals and British government functioned together.

John Lithgow did a great job as Churchill, I thought.
